COD: Black Ops Thread

New map pack announced.


Treyarch's Dan Bunting appeared on Major Nelson's podcast yesterday to discuss the upcoming DLC, entitled "First Strike." It will be comprised of four competitive maps: "Discovery," set in the single-player's abandoned Antarctic research facility; "Stadium," a hockey rink; "Kowloon," which takes place on the rooftops of Hong Kong; and "Berlin Wall," set at Checkpoint Charlie. In addition, a new map named "Ascension" for the game's Zombies mode will also be included.

"On this map pack, we focused a lot more on providing variety of weaponry, variety of engagement, ... [and] a lot more verticality, bringing some sniper opportunities to it," Bunting said on the podcast (via Gamasutra)

yea i got that freeze up right after Dling it. but i restarted my PS3 and it worked fine. tomorrow will tell i guess
 
Just started to run through it again...

Just as I remember, It's basically just a movie you moderately interact with...

No where's near what I would call a game...

Maybe it's just me, because these $60 movies seem to be selling well...

Almost on the order of penis enlargement pills...

everybody knows that COD shines with multiplayer...
 
hey i think that BlOps' campaign is awesome. way better than MW2 or WaW. it just feels like they put more thought into it. yea theres a lot of "hey push a single button and then watch the system do the rest" but its really good none the less
 
I'm playing campaign on it right now. I'm new to shooters and playing online gives me an anxiety ****** so I enjoy the campaign mode and the zombies.
 
Wow, the spawning system is broken as fuck. Spawn me in the middle of 4 guys, then on the other side of the map with 2 other guys.

Now that you mention Jungle, I guess I've had some problems there too. I always just assumed it was the opposing team spawn-trapping and not a flaw in the spawn system.

That could well be, I just ran into about 5 straight games where I was spawning in front of 4-5 guys roughly 10 times per match. I haven't had any of those maps in the past day, and the problem seems to have subsided some. Could've just been one of those days, but I was pissed to say the least.
 
Im With mglz. i will get it if the Price ever goes down. it looks like a lot of Fun.
 
Agree with above comment's the Campaign on Black ops is the best COD campaign for a good few years.
Personally they have ruined the multiplayer for me, too much like an Arcade game now. The spawning is a joke and the maps are too small again !
So it is back to Battlefield for online perfection until the new GRAW comes out in a month or so.
