Christian History of Denial and Misinformation

In no way did I intend to insult Mandy Flores. I meant the comment was annoying. I realized I wrote that wrong just now and want to be clear. I don't know her and from what I've seen of her, think she's adorable. Her post,,,,I get it. Religion good, people bad in simplistic terms.

Mandy I'm sorry for the way that was written. My bad.
It's totally cool.... when i step into these types of conversations I never let anything anyone says bother me. Some people get really heated and I can just picture them screaming at their computers over someone else disagreeing with them on something. It did seem a little personal though, saying that I PERSONALLY was annoying, but alas, I have to assume that it is possible. :(

LOL No worries! ...Oh and THANK YOU for being so cool that you would come out and publicly apologize like that! I crossed you off the top of my shit list :)

@ Mandy Flores

....yep my Mandypussyy, ...you´re not wrong , ... BUT :

I BET my last shirt, if you give EVERYONE a roof-top, some water to drink and enough food, there would be 90% of ALL the wars stopped , ....because : A full stomach and a normal sleep does NOT force anyone to fight ...right ? There are, ( for example ) 2.6 billions of ppl. , who do NOT have anything to drink every day .... aannd , WATER will NOT be veerryy much on the planet, especially there won´t be no water to DRINK , ...( global warming ..remember ? ) As your really know : WATER is LIFE .

Apropos * global warming * : You´re not incorrect if you say ...* we did not CAUSE it, ...but you´re only PARTLY right . WHY ? ...well since I´m alive, the use of water increased about 600 % , and I´m alive since the mid - 50s . AND we have that * global-warming-problem * , AND we have a problem with a * global-growing-world-population * .. FUCKING , ...know what I´m talking about ? AND , ( because of our so called * industry - time - age * ) the use of water increased that high. So that means, we´re not veeeerry responsible for it, but WE ARE ABLE to REDUCE it, ( for the 1st time ) ..cause of our technical skills , .. ( possibly we can leave it on + 3 degrees in some like 50 years ) . I myself do NOT have any reason to move my bones into vacations, cause we´ve got tropical temperatures allover Europe NOW . ...the problem is ..it changes tooo fast from 10 > 40 ...
AND , ( for the rest of you soooo god - believing - azzholes ) : Have you ever seen him ? Or her ? Or it ?:D:D:angels:

You would lose your last shirt. Rome did not need any food or water when they decided to go and conquer all of Europe. The Persian Empire as well. The Mongols had more than enough food and comfort at home before they went and terrorized all of the Eastern world. The United Kingdom and Spain had absolutely no issues filling their bellies when they gallivanted across the oceans and took anything and everything they could get their hands on, and just killed or lorded over anyone who was in their way. The Polynesians went from island to island even up into the 1800’s and killed and took whatever they could just simply because they wanted to. Japan had everything they could need when they invaded China, and again later in WWII when they decided they wanted to rule half the world. Hitler had somewhat of an excuse because Germany was so impoverished and in debt it may have seemed like his only out, but Mussolini in Italy just wanted more power. The Soviet Union took over dozens of countries at the end of WWII yet had more than enough to sustain their own country. These wars account for more loss of life than ANY of the crusades or ethnic cleansings.
(post edit: notice that none of these wars were started because of religion, in fact the Soviets, The Mongols, and the Japanese were all basically atheistic aggressors)
On the water discussion in regards to global warming.... I know this doesn’t seem like common sense to you but the very real fact of water is there is not one drop less of water on this planet than there ever has been. When it is used it goes back into the cycle, you pee it out, you sweat it out, it evaporates out of the ground or seeps into it, you flush it down the sink or toilet and it goes right back to where it began. The only way it is a waste of water is if the pond you are drinking out of gets emptied.....it’s still somewhere........ all except that last 185 lbs of your dead body, which in thinking about it, actually evaporates and goes somewhere as well.

I don’t care if someone believes in God or not, it just makes more sense to me when I look at the complexity of how things work. I get what you mean about someone going hungry, I myself wonder why is it that anything living has to eat something else living to continue to have life...... but alas, it is as it always has been, there is a reason for it, it works incredibly well overall as a system, and if a person does truly believe in a higher power then you also understand that anything that happens here ends op just being a memory. I like to think of it in the same vane as dreams.... you could be having this insanely realistic dream, living a life there, knowing people you don’t really know, going through horrible experiences and yet when you wake up....... you realize that none of it mattered, no matter how bad it was, because you have come back to your real life. Everything in nature gives examples of how things work and dreams seem like a perfect way to prepare a person for what comes when you die. I believe that those who die really couldn’t give a fuck anymore about how they died, what they went through, or even who they aren’t seeing anymore. Just my personal take on it. Smile

Again, I don’t give one flying fuck if somebody believes in God or not, but I wish that those who didn’t believe in God were as open to the possibility that there is a God as I am to the possibility that there may not be. I don’t think someone is stupid for not believing, but MOST atheists seem to think that all spiritual people are idiots. Of course a lot of Muslims would cut your head off for drawing a picture of Mohammed so maybe being an atheist isn’t a bad option! LOL

Everything exists for no reason, there is absolutely nothing after we die, and everything just magically appeared from nothing in an explosion. Seems pessimistic so I like the other option. Smile

I think this explains Sascha's post.

Right, religions do not kill anyone.

....aaannd, THIS sentence : .... AND , ( for the rest of you soooo god - believing - azzholes ) : Have you ever seen him ? Or her ? Or it ?
was just meant to be as a * wakeup - call * ... I think you really know what I mean ..:dunno::)

Doesn't feed trolls and would appreciate it if you
I give up. You are right. Bye.
Yet I doubt your narrative has budged an inch. :dunno:

One of the more surprising things I learned from Robert Pape's Dying to Win is that the group with the most suicide terror attacks wasn't in the Middle East - or even religious. Secular, in fact. One of the conclusions of the book is that nationalism - as illustrated by the history you mention here - is a much bigger driver of violence than religion. Religion just makes it easier for the powers that be (religions are designed as systems of control, after all).

On the water discussion in regards to global warming.... That doesn't necessarily mean it's useful or sustaining to us...

...and if a person does truly believe in a higher power then you also understand that anything that happens here ends op just being a memory. I hate to be a downer on what ought to be an otherwise uplifting thought, but I find this idea very frightening and dangerous. It's an idea that allows for people to do horrible things to one another all in an expectation of 'the next thing', when there's no reason (read: evidence or logical support) to believe that there's anything other than what we've got, here and now. It's the sort of thinking a suicide bomber uses or those that think that a nuclear war would be great for bringing on the apocalypse so the true believers can be taken away. Or using karma to mistreat the malformed even more because they must've done something awful in some other life to deserve it.

I would like to think that a true understanding that this one life really is all you get would make us respect life more. But I do not know that to be true. Another camp of thinking suggests that that would make people only more selfish and less compassionate. Pretty much a straight-up fight between the evolution of our genes and the evolution of civilization.

You need to find yourself different atheists! Most of the atheists I know (who comprise of most of the people I know, to be fair) are not only supportive of spirituality, most of them are spiritual. And there's no friction there; spirituality is not and needs not having anything to do with religion or gods.

Everything exists for no reason, there is absolutely nothing after we die, and everything just magically appeared from nothing in an explosion. Seems pessimistic so I like the other option. Smile
I've personally never found the cosmos to be any less beautiful (or more pessimistic) without assigning any reason or purpose to it. It's like comparing architecture to nature; there's some really beautiful buildings and structures that man has made, to be sure. But for me they'll never hold a light to what one can see in mountains or forests or in the sky.

Ok, too much material to go through. I must ask a very clear straight question here: today, and i mean today, not yesterday: giving that you guys seem to be all atheist and bla bala bla....
...pick between muslims and christians.
No other chances, no if, what and whatever,

Pick between Islam and Christianity please.

Can you honestly do that ? Can you pick one and explain why? Take side imagining you forced to and explain us why you privileged one over the other.

Christianity. Because at least it is a religion where people aren't beheaded nor killed for their opinions or beliefs unlike what we see with Isis and radical wahabism (the most radical branch of Islam). Islam also calls to kill infidels from other religions who are not confirming with views of the Quran. See what Isis has done to Christian hostages or to kids or to gays.It is horrifying and sickening.
