Life here, on a universal scale, is utterly insignificant. No argument there. But that doesn't change the fact that there are over 6 billion people trying to share this planet at the moment. And the best way to do that is to do exactly the opposite of things like stealing, *******, ******, etc. That's no way to ensure the survival of your species. This is where morality comes from in the first place.
