The Machinist ("I just wanna sleep..." beautiful)

The Mist, the ending blew my mind and deeply horrified me.

Other than these two, most of the ones you mentioned are on my list as well.

The ending to Saving Private Ryan. Best ending to a movie I've ever seen and only one to make me cry like a baby.

Do you mean drop?
If so then yes, although the movie ends a second or two before the bomb impact. A quick series of images showing unaware New Yorkers going about their everyday lives leads to a final shot where a flock of pigeons suddenly takes flight, sensing what the humans can't - that an object falling from the sky is about to land. The frame freezes just after the birds get airborne. Very low tech but very effective.
