By far most of the 15-20 million Slaves ,who actually survived this ordeal,were transported to Brazil & Spanish possessions(Cuba,Puerto Rico,etc)Tens of millions of others died due to the slave wars,diseases,etc....which decimated that continent which has barely recovered from that horrible period.


Every single country/possession(hundreds) never spilled one single drop of blood when they abolished slavery. In Brazil,Cuba,Puerto Rico,Dominica,Jamaica,Trinidad,Argentina,etc.....not one drop of blood was spilled in the abolition of slavery. It was done in a reasonably peaceful manner.
Only Americans were too thoughtless,inhumane,unintelligent to end this ugly episode without war. Yet you blame the victims(Blacks) of White stupidity for the disastrous results of the American Civil War.

It's okay,people typically don't respond when their convoluted theories are called out by someone armed with FACTS . Questioning someone's patriotism(I hate America/Whites:1orglaugh) is the basic GOP rule book as evidenced by painting a highly decorated veteran Officer/War hero like Kerry damn near a traitor unlike Bush(who dodged serving in Nam). If they can do that to Kerry(question his patriotism) I'm not surprised someone like you would try it on me. Most Dems refuse to even imply that McCain isn't a patriot yet their patriotism is constantly being challenged by the GOP.

Because of our stupidity in not avoiding Civil War unlike all the other slave trading countries/possessions from Britain to Brazil to Spain to Cuba,etc....It is beyond silly to blame the victims(slaves) for causing a war that with reason,thoughtfulness,humaneness, dignity, justice,civility & intelligent political discourse & compromise should have been avoided. I was going to post that decided not to. The war was started because the South had seceded from the Union. Lincoln actually wasn't all that friendly to blacks until he met Fredrick Douglass. He freed the slaves because it was a tactical advantage into winning the war by getting freed slaves on his side. It's also a common misconception that Lincoln was assassinated because he freed the slaves. Lincoln was only going to kidnapped by John Wilkes Booth until Lincoln made a speech about giving the newly freed slaves the right to vote. John Wilkes Booth then said "that's it, he's a dead man!" and the kidnapping plot became an assassination plot.

I don't take anything away from Lincoln and he's probably my favorite President. He did what had to be done to keep this country from falling apart. He freed my ancestors, who were looked at as nothing more than property and animals and for that I've always been grateful because who knows where I would be. Third, if you remember something called the Civil War, that was what happened when we tried to correct our mistakes. What happened? Your North massacred hundreds of thousands of the Southern people to keep a handfull of black people here instead of sending them back. So I wouldn't start on that subject.

I guess you missed the point of my post :dunno: I just made three or four post disputing that slaves are to be blamed for the Civil War? However, Maintaining the Union? What caused this split in the Union? The slavery issue perhaps & the inability to come to a compromise? Certainly wasn't a Cricket match that caused the hostilities & Southern states secession.

Lincoln was a POLITICIAN in an era in which Northern slave abolitionist were considered "radicals' & the guy had to tow the center when it came to Blacks or else he would have been totally ineffective as a National politician. The GOP was a party founded as an abolitionist party & Lincoln was certainly an abolitionist no matter what his opinion of Blacks was.
