A lot good books out there right now from various journalists, reporters and authors about the current administration and how other's which have preceeded it for generations have shaped US policy around the world for their own self interest. The record is there, their overall world view all that time from public record, so conspiracy theories on an individual basis may or may not be true.
It almost really doesn't matter when you look at recorded history and the criminal record of politics and world power. What they did to get it to the point it's at now seems irrelevant. Was Kennedy assassinated? Nothings really changed.

Who manufactured the notion that conspiracy could only be an assertion derived from "extreme" right or left wing miscreants ? It's not a stretch to infer that those who designed the discredit have something to hide. You see, it sets up a smoke screen, deflect attention, if you will . . . sort of basic operations if you ask me.

I'm sure the whole psychology of it is a lot more sophisticated than in the 50's. Look at ads you are attracted to and ask what about them do you like? If you like them, they tend to influence you, if you don't like them, that push away tends to draw you in by something else, maybe opposite.
Groups are targeted. Head banging music and flashing lights aren't found in Levitra or Viagra ads. Older people enjoying retirement on a golf course aren't featured in Playstation ads.
I watch a lot of news, so ads I see tend to be for investment companies, prescription drugs and products representing the good life.
I know I want to start smoking to look like the old, (retro), Marlboro Man. Then I'll be cool!

I recall some readings of N. Korean defectors (the very few) who made it into S. Korean territory -
So long as there was food, they believed that they were "free" being that they we're cut off from the rest of the world. When Geong Il cut the rations to this particular Re - ed Camp / quarantined group, it was only upon the observation of an adjacent groups' eating a relative to stay alive did they conclude that they we're actually less than free !
Even with the fact that they're daughters, sisters & mothers might have been taken away to rape - death camps, this was a normal "minor inconvenience" . . . status quo.

Nice thread. Any one who doesn't think the wealthy are out to make everyone zombies, willing to buy their products( at the very least ), so they can get wealthier is more niave then they realize.
If you know anything about psychology, you can see the subtle infleunces advertisers use to push people to buy things. Most targeted are children because of their easily infleunced minds.
