Are we secretly being controlled??!!

Back to retail / marketing manipulation -

The giant grocery entities out here use a crafty method to keep customers off guard / balance.

It's those 2 for $4.00 3 for $6.00 etc. prices that more or less "look" the same. For example - two years ago I remember buying 2 jugs of Cranberry juice at the sale price of 2 for $4.00 . . . Today's sale price - 2 for $6.00 . . and to be honest, I can't recall when this product surpassed the 2 for 5.00 mark  It did though.

Tell me ! Haven't you caught yourself driving by the gas station looking at the fuel prices . . . . Cool ! it's in the low 3s !

A $3.00 gallon of gas is to die for today ! Hey ! as long as it's under $3.50.

A year and a half ago it was . . . what $1.89 ?:thefinger

At $3.50 a US gallon that's almost being given away. It's $8.50 a US gallon here.

TAnd to that end, I think that there are some big egos among the conspiracy theorists thinking that "the elite" care about what "you" think in the first place... or that "they" think that "you" can actually do anything from your LazyBoy.

I also think that conspiracy theorists also have big egos because they think "wow, I'm the only one who sees/knows this, I've figured this out and no one else has" and it makes them feel important and that they're actually doing something.

Good product or not, I was watching an ad for the Bose speaker system on TV. Everything the announcer said was also in print on the screen. I should have counted adjectives, as it suddenly dawned on me that all they were saying, (showing), were words like, remarkable, clarity, innovative, (whatever they were). All the words were subjective opinions of an unknown person.

I also remember something a few years ago by TV pitchman Tony Little, the weightlifter selling a product about getting a new look on old furniture. He then said to, "check this illusion with water", and he wiped water on an old chair leg, which instantly looked darker and better when wet. He was very clear about what he did, always, loud, pointing, shouting which must work, or maybe distract. But I don't think that form of salesmanship works that well for me.

I always thought celebrities should be accountable for their claims for products that turn out to be harmful, and companies need to name products by what they really are. "Gas guzzler 500", might be a place to start. NO ONE would buy that popular product would they, so advertising must work.

An ad from the past; :)

Yes, I agree. It's like "The Sting" with Retford and Newman. Only a select few were part of the club, and thought they were smarter than everyone else and would make that gesture with their finger down the side of their noses.

I whole heartedly agree :yesyes: !

Let's go over to the radio side of advertisment for a moment -

I have often heard syndicated suck up radio talk show hosts kiss Limbaughs ass suggesting that he resurrected the AM radio band. Yeah ? He also put hundreds of smaller market radio hosts at the peril of larger syndicated big radio markets. Result - A collective of a couple a dozen syndicated hosts which have been selected for us :bs:

Now, wherever we travel, coast to coast, we're stuck with their bullshit bias.
Neat, huh, how they conduct the affairs of commercial time, isn't it ? As if one would think that they'd be credible advocates for their new free $10,000 king size bed. :thefinger

"Just tell 'em Bill "Oh Really" told you to call for the special 3.22% discount off this special bed".
