Are we secretly being controlled??!!

I was watching, "The Dead Poet's Society", and Robin Williams was trying to show his students how easily they fell into conformity. He had three of them run in a small circle and although they got a bit silly, the rest of the group started clapping in rhythm. When he pointed out that they ran in step, it was conformity and suggested if anyone agreed they should ask themselves while they were clapping. :)

there's can be little doubt that there is a core group of individuals that control everything, and it's not really all that surprising. As to how ethical or benign it is is a matter of debate, but the fact that it should come about that way seems only natural to me and is probablly less intentionally manipulative then some might think. Let me put it this way, who here owns thier own TV station? I could say whatever I wanted to to every person that I saw and in twenty years I wouldn't be able to reach as much as Ted Turner could in one day- so it's quite obvious that the people who control society, and who have the most vested intrest in maintaining that control are also the one's with the most available means to inlfuence people and make them see what they want them to see.

Worse than Ted by far in his power and his views would be Rupert Murdoch.Owner of countless newspapers and TV stations worldwide the most famous being Fox.

good point, I can't even lurk the profiles of jail bait sluts without him having a hand in it.

I think the premise everyone is told is that this is America and any fool, I mean kid can grow up to be President. But the reality is that opportunity escapes most of us.

It's like the statement if you want it bad enough or work at it hard enough you'll get it or you'll succeed. I suppose we're all trained to think like that and then people who are let's say successful actors interviewed on a successful talk show, will say "follow your dreams", or something like that.

Well, I know a lot of people who buy lottery tickets including a lottery winner here and there, and they all said they want it bad enough, but you know what? There isn't enough "magic", to go around and not everyone gets what they want or has equal opportunity. You just don't hear their stories on Oprah. If your father is a lawyer, you won't be a sanitation worker. If your brother is an actor, you will be too. If your dad was a coal miner making minimum wage, and died of black lung disease, guess what? Qualities to be President? Intelligence, honesty, insight, the best man, the most qualified, studied hard? Worked hard to get there? Really? Guess how Junior got his job.

The supposition is a WASP ethic that says, success is God's reward to the faithful. Which absolutely doesn't wash in reality although it makes a good excuse for the rich and powers that be.

The Illuminati?

"Go back to bed, America, your government has figured out how it all transpired. Go back to bed America, your government is in control. Here, here's American Gladiators. Watch this, shut up, go back to bed America, here is American Gladiators, here is 56 channels of it! Watch these pituitary retards bang their skulls together and congratulate you on the living in the land of freedom. Here you go America - you are free to do what well tell you! You are free to do what we tell you!” Bill Hicks

How about the Majestic Twelve?

"Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people."

Yep! Everything we think, eat, sleep, dream and say is like following a script.

I've said it many times. Advertisers believe if you see an ad 10x it sticks with you, so when people say they have free will and aren't influenced buying new cars, computers, TV's, prescription drugs, or that violence in movies and TV doesn't effect them, (or their kids), or ads promoting smiling politicians, don't eventually cause us to believe what they say.

If it has no effect I wonder why manufacturers spend those billions each year trying to influence, "you", through ads if it doesn't work?

They must just spend that money to buy off those weak minded souls, but not us! :dunno:

I though advertising was on TV to give you a little time to make a drink or have a pee.
I know it works though , just look at the oceans of pitiful piss water sold as beer. Notice the ads don't say how good the product is (I don't think that the makers of Bud,Stella and the like would want to draw attention to that aspect) but portray an attractive image instead.

I've always noticed one common thing about conspiracy theorists: they live in industrial countries.

Never in my life have I seen a citizen in a poor country or a autonomy make this kind of bullshit up. Kinda striking, since it basically means that the society - whose greatest wish is to keep secrets hidden - enlightens its people.

As long as I don't see my personal integrity or identity threatened I don't see any reason whatsoever to believe this diarrhea coming out of people's bored brains. Instead of being such a bitch about everything maybe it's time the people in the Western world learn to embrace everything that's one hundred times better than it was 100 years ago.

Very Old Doctrines:

Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem
inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away...

Hence the skillful fighter puts himself into a position which makes defeat impossible, and does
not miss the moment for defeating the enemy....that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won

Before your "personal integrity or identity" is threatened or you realize they are, you(we) will be rendered too passive to act.

n btw industrial countries have more freedom for press n speech, which these
thinkers/Consp th make use of.

Back to retail / marketing manipulation -

The giant grocery entities out here use a crafty method to keep customers off guard / balance.

It's those 2 for $4.00 3 for $6.00 etc. prices that more or less "look" the same. For example - two years ago I remember buying 2 jugs of Cranberry juice at the sale price of 2 for $4.00 . . . Today's sale price - 2 for $6.00 . . and to be honest, I can't recall when this product surpassed the 2 for 5.00 mark  It did though.

Tell me ! Haven't you caught yourself driving by the gas station looking at the fuel prices . . . . Cool ! it's in the low 3s !

A $3.00 gallon of gas is to die for today ! Hey ! as long as it's under $3.50.

A year and a half ago it was . . . what $1.89 ?:thefinger

That's just good business sense. ^

I think this thread got soft. The original intent, was about large scale, evil or malicious manipulations on a geopolitical scale.

And to that end, I think that there are some big egos among the conspiracy theorists thinking that "the elite" care about what "you" think in the first place... or that "they" think that "you" can actually do anything from your LazyBoy.
