2012 Tennis Thread

I just caught the very tail end of the Rods/Feds duel and the crowd was just going crazy.

I just can't believe that Feds has a dominating 21-3 all time records against A-Rod. Just baffling. I also didn't know (other than their one epic duel) that A-Rod was in THREE Wimby finals against Feds. That astonished me. If only Rods could have captured that epic duel it would have been so amazing.

Caroline Wozniacki enjoyed her first victory over Serena Williams, winning 6-4 6-4 at the Sony Ericsson Open to set up a semi-final clash with Maria Sharapova.

Andy Roddick crashed out of the tournament 7-5 6-0 at the hands of 21st seed Juan Monaco.

Roddick, seeded 31 in Miami, looked a shadow of the player who beat Roger Federer 24 hours previously and produced a lacklustre performance that his Argentine opponent took full advantage of.

Argentina’s Juan Monaco celebrated his 28th birthday with a stunning 6-1 6-3 win over eighth seed Mardy Fish to reach the Miami Masters semi-finals.

Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska used her wits to defeat world number two Maria Sharapova 7-5 6-4 to win the Sony Ericsson Open final in Miami.

Novak Djokovic successfully defended his Miami Masters crown as he overcame Andy Murray 6-1 7-6 (7-4) in the sweltering heat.

The Danish top seed is the only winner of the tournament since its inception in 2010, and will face second seed Angelique Kerber to make it three in a row.

Germany's Angelique Kerber stunned defending champion Caroline Wozniacki by beating her 6-4 6-4 to win the Copenhagen Open, her second WTA title.

Fourth seeded wildcard Juan Monaco won his second claycourt tournament of the season, beating second seed John Isner 6-2 3-6 6-3 in Houston.

Raonic going great in Barcelona, beat both Almagro and Murray in straight sets!
Will probably have to play Ferrer next though, which will be tough...not to mention Nadal will most likely be in the final.
