Top seed Victoria Azarenka charged into the fourth round of the Indian Wells WTA tournament by crushing Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-1 6-2 on Sunday, improving her unbeaten record to 19-0 this year.

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova became the highest seed to exit the Indian Wells WTA tournament after a 2-6 6-2 6-3 loss to American teenager Christina McHale in the third round.

Andy Murray's storming start to the season hit an unexpected road bump on Saturday when the Briton was upset 6-4 6-2 by Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the second round of the Indian Wells ATP tournament.

It was a VG win by Isner last night against Simon. Very impressive. Will be top 10 soon (after tourney) if he keeps it up to go number 1 rated American in the world.
 
Nadal faces Federer after epic quarter-final

Rafael Nadal produced a late surge to overcome David Nalbandian 4-6 7-5 6-4 in a gripping quarter-final at ATP Indian Wells to set up a last-four showdown with Roger Federer.

Maria Sharapova will meet Victoria Azarenka in the final at WTA Indian Wells after Ana Ivanovic retired with an injury early in the second set of their semi-final.

The pony-tailed Belarusian moved into outright second place for the best start to a WTA Tour season since 1997.

Swiss Martina Hingis leads the way with 37 consecutive victories to launch her 1997 campaign with Azarenka next best with 22 at the moment and American Serena Williams in third, with 21 in 2003.
 
Federer wins fourth Indian Wells title

Roger Federer continued his red-hot run by dispatching surprise finalist John Isner 7-6 6-3 on Sunday to become the first player to win the Indian Wells Masters four times.
 
Serena Williams made a triumphant return to the WTA Tour, crushing China's Zhang Shuai 6-2 6-3 in the second round in Miami.

Belgium's Kim Clijsters, another former number one on the comeback trail, booked her place in the third round with a 6-2 7-5 win over Germany's Julia Goerges.

World number one Victoria Azarenka scraped into the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open, surviving a two hour 49 minute battle against Slovak Dominika Cibulkova to emerge with a 1-6 7-6 7-5 victory.

Roger Federer's run of 16 victories came to an end with a surprise defeat to American Andy Roddick in the third round of the Sony Ericsson Open, losing 7-6 1-6 6-4.
