Yeah I hate the Mets but they should be alot better than they are.
at least in Seattle they fired the gm for assembling a flawed team. the mets players better get the idea they need to start performing big because the phillies are playing real well right now and the mets have some ground to make up. i still think the mets should move heilmann back to AAA he's killing your pen,maybe it's time to make Oliver Perez a relivier,and whether Delgado likes it or not he should be a part time player right now.

I'm embarrassed to be a Mets fan right now. It's not the fact that Randolph was fired but the way he was fired. In fact it's not just embarrassing for the Mets but for all of baseball. To fly Randolph, Peterson, and Nieto 3000 miles from home only to fire them after two wins and to do the firing over email at 3:12 am is simply disgraceful. I hope Omar Minaya gets fired eventually, he's the person who put the damn team together. Now that the Mets are looking for a new manager (assuming that Jerry Manuel is only an interim manager) I nominate Bobby Valentine or go see if Keith Hernandez is interested.

Exactly, this whole fiasco was truly an embarrassment for the Mets. I still hold that Randolph was at most a very small part of the problem. I agree that Omar Minaya should be fired for pinning so much of the Mets' hopes on aging, injury prone players.
I wish the Mets' could get Bobby Valentine back, but if they can't, I think they should stick with Manuel. I still can't understand why Rick Peterson was fired. In losing him, they lose a premier pitching coach. Perhaps he and Nieto were Randolph loyalists. What a fucking mess.

yes they won with the help of branyan and cameron sending out some bombs. i'm a padres fan and i totally disagree with them releasing these guys. they are pretty damn good.
This has been a very interesting year so far. . . and it helps that the White Sox are in first! Cross-Town Classic these next two weekends, and I can't wait!!!
The Mets firing was a joke. . . would you be quick to take the job after the way they handled that?! And with Jerry Manuel now?! a cardboard cut-out shows more emotion than he does!!! if they are throwing in the towel, e finishes out the year. . . otherwise, they will make a new hire soon.

Yeah, at the time I wrote the post it had only gotten out the firing was done by email. Later on more details came out but regardless the whole thing was a joke. I hope that Omar Minaya, Tony Bernazard and anyone else involved with this firing get thrown out on their collective asses.
