2008 MLB Thread

So the Dodgers re-sign Furcal, meh. Right now we have a mediocre team with average pitching and absolutely no power. We basically have the sorry Dodgers from a year before last year. Frank McCheap better step it up, he's not impressing anybody. I heard on the radio that Frank McCheap said that he's not sure the fans would be down with him spending a lot of money on the team with the current economic situation the country is in.
Lame. Artie Moreno should've bought the team.

If Colletti has any remnants of a brain in his head he'll hang on to Kemp. As for Furcal (or Fuckall as I've heard him referred to many times now), I **** to bash him, but he was stupid as hell to let his agent deal with all the teams the way that he did. Oh well, maybe Kinzer will finally learn.

I don't see that bright of a day for the Nationals, unless its being looked at through a window, or set of blinds. I wish they could bring something home to the District, rather it be a pen or a World Series. They not a team. There out fielder has his head in the clouds. Everything is messed up. The organization needs to drop all that, and present something new. Get rid of the whole team. Are thirty five perfect atleast.

I'm just glad to see Scott BorASS having to eat his words about the huge money, long term contract offers that were supposedly going to roll in for Manny :1orglaugh

Still to far away :(

Now that the cowboys arent playing Football anymore I have nothing to cheer for until Baseball season.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Chicago Cubs + Milton Bradley = Me, possibly not rooting for the Cubs for much longer

Seriously...MILTON FUCKING BRADLEY? Are you serious?!?!?! That dude is nothing but a walking problem that eats away at his respective team's camaraderie. Fuck him...I want him out of Chicago already.

I'm with you here, this was a pretty bad signing. He had a year of OPS+ that was over 100 points higher than his career average. His wOBP was almost 200 points higher than his career average. He's not stealing, is a league average baserunner, and the only position he's a plus defender at is where Fukudome plays. Screams regression to me.

and whats funny is the cubs moved derosa and jason marquis so the could sign bradley. i think the cubs will regret both trades. i really like pat burrell to the rays

It seems John Smoltz could join the Red Sox?

Poor Cubs fans... What your GM was smoking when he signed Milton Bradley!

Jason Giambi back to the A's means more runs scored and maybe less pressure on Daric Barton to hit homers.I think the A's can compete with the Angels now.

Barton was never really thought of as any sort of power man. He's a high average, high OBP type of hitter. I just hope he does prove himself, because I've seen him play, and to me he is every bit the prospect that he's been made out to be. Giambi can still hit, but I'm not sold on him coming back to the A's. I will say that it doesn't hurt to have the flexibility, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Barton struggles early to see him sent back down to AAA for a while, while giving Giambi the everyday starts at first.

yeah, i miss baseball. All the White Sox have done is sign the supossed Cuban phenom Danyan Viciendo. . . I hope he turns out to be as good as predicted.

Smoltz to Boston? WTF! As what, set-up man? the rich get richer, i guess!
