No attempt to get back on topic, but the Indians rally in the bottom of the ninth to beat Todd Jones and the Tigers - damn, I needed Carmona to get pegged with the loss to help my fantasy team :crash:

we both lost on pitching in this. jones gets me yet another loss and my era will skyrocket again.:(

Just think of it as taking one for the team. Things like that are one of things I don't like about fantasy sports. There's to many conflicting interest.

i got conflicting interest for you. i have both cc and verlander on my team. twice in the last two weeks they opposed each other. doh!:1orglaugh

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
So...Carlos Zambrano and Michael Barrett got into a FIST FIGHT today. That spells G-O-O-D-N-E-W-S for any Cubs fan...NOT.

I watched the New York/Boston game today. Did the Yankees go out of their way to tank that game or what? At least they can take solace in the fact that they aren't the Cubs.

that was pretty ugly. and mussina giving me yet another loss.

And you still think they can win the division? Playing the way they are they will be lucky to stay out of last place. God they suck. I hate years like this, but I will take them, I know it won't be long before they are back to greatness, unlike other teams who have another 83 years to go before they get another WS ring.

:1orglaugh you get funnier and funnier. 2004 was no fluke and you know it.

You are the one who gets funnier, 2004 not a fluke? HAHAHAHAHAHA what have they done since then? Have they repeated? No. Have they even come close to a repeat? No. Say what you will about the Yankees . Sure it's been 7 years since they last won the WS. Yes, right now they suck about as much as a team can suck if not more so. The difference is, it won't be another 86 years before they win the WS. I will be impressed when Boston can win 3 WS titles in a row. Having said that, I know they will never impress me. Oh there i go again bringing up the Yankee past, silly me, at least my team has a past to be proud of...:rofl2:

You're just upset that you're beloved yankees are still sitting 13.5 games back sucking Brooklyn sewer water and simply hoping to get the wild card.

By the way nice job getting the soon to be 45 yr old with the iffy groin who can't even make a scheduled start against Chicago.

i happen to know this is a true statement. but, there is no hope for the card. its coming from the central again. either detroit or cleveland. yes we will make the return to october. :)

I have been the one saying all along that they suck, and nor do i think they can even get the wild card, so you statements really mean nothing to me, they are meant to bug me by saying stuff like "beloved", and all i do is laugh at your half assed attempts to make fun of the Yankees. It's all good though, because at the end of the season when Boston crumbles in the playoffs yet again, I will take solace in the fact that they will never win another WS in my lifetime, and just further prove to the world what a fluke 2004 really was. But if it helps you sleep at night to think it wasn't, well, nighty night.

Oh and let's see the current tallies, which i know you will love because team history is something you seem to despise....oh right, you have good reason too:rofl2:

Boston Red Sox
World Series Titles-6
AL Pennants-11
East Division Titles-5

New York Yankees
World Series Titles-26 (20 more than Boston)
AL Pennants-39 (28 more than Boston)
East Division Titles-15 (10 more than Boston)

I can totally understand Boston fan's aversion to discussions of the past, not much there to be proud of huh.

Once again I don't care what NY has done in the past. Nor do I let myself be bothered with the downfalls that Boston has had in the past like Dent,Buckner and Boone. I don't care. Yankee fans clutch onto that shit like some weird security blanket. Get over it.

So then it must not bother you that Boston hasn't done jack shit since 2004 huh? that they haven't come close to a repeat championship? I guess one WS win is enough for you, then again, i guess it would be since you know as well as anyone else you won't see another WS win for Boston for at least another 83 years. That's a nice tiny security blanket you Boston fans have. I guess it goes with your mentalities, small and not very useful

No it doesn't bother me. 2004 was great. I was happy with it. Do I want to see them win another one? Of course I do but I don't sit and dwell on it because they haven't. If they go to the post season this year and don't win it'll bother me for a few hours or maybe a day then I'll move on. It's only baseball.

I think you're a little pathetic with this crap of reminding me of the world titles NY has. I honestly don't give a shit. That NY history doesn't mean shit to me. I'm certainly not in awe of it and never will be.

I posted a few weeks ago, and someone thought I was a Yankee fan! Sorry to disappoint you, I like the Cards. Yet for some reason the Bosox win a W-S in '04 and their fans think the BoSox belong in the elite or upper echelon? Please, any actual baseball fan knows "the WILD CARD" was established so Boston could "make" the playoffs. That 0-3 comeback was just as much the Yankees folding as it was D. Lowe pitching his ass off....Schilling was just a product of the media. Also, as far as the past being the past, Last I saw the Yankees have taken the last 4 of 6 from Boston, the Yankees starting pitching is getting settled, and Boston fans "YOUR GM did offer around 18 mil for that 45 yr pitcher, that you folks seem to say you don't need". Enough said. It is still JUNE. Beginning of October is a long way away.
