2007 MLB Thread

Kudos to the Rockies for winning 11 games in a row to make a run at it.

Yeah but you've got to consider 7 of those have been against the whiney little bitch boy Dodgers, who just totally mailed it in

1 game playoffs suck, but at the same time I can see the logic behind them.

Senob - I'm not sure, but I thought I'd heard that the D-Backs have also scored less runs than their opponents (or nearly so) ?

More than the playoffs, I'm looking forward to that grand jury burying Bonds sometime before the year is out :D

I'm picking the Gay.....errrrr, I mean Angels to win the series, but good luck to you all in the post season

I would just like to "Congratulate" the INDIANS, ANGELS, and even the BoSox for making the post-season. Now what I really wanted to say.... Where the HELL are all these so-called "baseball experts" that said the YANKEES were done and would not make the playoffs? When will folks learn the baseball season is 162 games long and it is not won in May or even April. Still waiting for all those ESPN fools to eat some crow also! Yet we all know that won't happen.

and who was the one person who said the yankees would take the card back in june? ahem...:D

I'm in absolute shock that my New York Mets are possibly not going to make it to the playoffs. How do you lose 8 straight games? For that matter, how do you lose to the Washington Nationals and the Florida Marlins, two of the worst teams this season? You lead the division all year only to blow it the final week of the season? I just can't believe it. Here's to the last two games of the season. Let's Go Mets, Let's Go Mets.

Regarding the Mets collapse (thru Friday):

7 game lead on Sept. 12 with 17 games left
5 straight losses (including 3 to Washington)
8 straight losses at home
lost 11 of their last 15 overall

No major league team has blown such a big lead in such a short time at the end of a season. The Mets aren't exactly in a good position in the wild-card race, either. They are two games behind San Diego and tied with Colorado.

My Cardinals may have choked big time, but this epic Mets collapse is sweet consolation. :D

Congrats, Cubs fans
Condolences to Brewers fans
Yankees vs Indians after all - wouldn't ya know
Angels get their worst matchup - the Sox
Mets fans sweating bullets, but when things look their brightest the Phillies often find a way to summon the darkness lol

Well, I am a happy Happy Ape tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)
Congrats to CA and his Cubs!!

The mets' death may have been prematurely reported! They had a big win today behind a fine effort by the offense and John Maine. The Phils are currently down 4-1 in the eighth to the Nats. Looks like it might be tied into the last game of the season!

Yes, upon review, the playoff-bound D-Backs are 20 games over .500 while scoring 9 less runs than their opponents. Weird anomalies.

Well, as of this SECOND, it just became official. The Mets' season is over. The greatest collapse in the history of man. Though I must congratulate the Phillies, they did almost everything perfect down the stretch.

We've got so much talent I think sometimes we get bored.

There's your collapse, right there in that quote.

These last two and a half weeks have been really fun. Today was really fun. I believed the Phillies could make a run and make it interesting, but I didn't expect the Mets to collapse like they did. I can't wait for the playoffs to begin!

This has got to be the absolute worst birthday present I have ever received.:(

Best Wishes and Good Luck! 3-1 Indians! Oh Well! at least I know the BoSox are happy about that first AL EAST title in what? 12 yrs? My 13 yr old daughter asked me ....Can Boston win the AL EAST ?
