2005-2006 FOOTBALL Season Official Thread

Hey don't want to sound biased, but don't rule out Liverpool next year.Rafa's seems to have worked out the Premiership now. You've only got to look at the improvement this year over last.If it wasn't for the poor start in the first 7 games we'd be a lot closer. Also we've in the postion we're in without a right sided player.

Also like I've said before on this thread the reason Chelsea are where they are is the fault of the other teams. They are not a great TEAM they have good players, but don't play well together. Also he often has his best striker sat on the bench. If you look at the games they've play where the other team has gone and attacked them, they've either drawn or lost most of them.

So to sum up it will be tough but yes Chelsea can be beat next season.

Still think you need a goalscorer who can score 20+ in the league like Henry or Van Nistelrooy.

Of Cisse, Crouch and Morientes only Cisse looks to have the potential.

0-0 last night
poor game overall

i think 0-0 was a fair score, both teams had chances where they should have scored
especially Ronaldo just before half time.... can't believe he missed that

That was a terrible miss, apart from a few games he has been disappointing this season.

Thought Man United missed Scholes to be honest, not the force he used to be but far better than any of the other central midfielders on show from both sides.

yeah, I'm not that big a fan of the EPL, to be honest (although I follow every round :) ).
I'm doing alright but it's too soon to say I'm doing great.

i'm 4th out of 21 in mine
thing is, i'm 15 points from top spot at the moment, but last week, i got 17 more points that first place.... that happens againm and i'm top

Don't want to get at you.But why not start a fantasy football thread. As this is for this seasons real football and not fantasy football.Sorry to moan but you could really talk about it more in there and may get others.

English F.A. Cup

Luton Town 3 - Liverpool 5

BLOODY HELL..What a game!
It reminded me of those two 90's Liverpool vs Newcastle games (4-3 wins for the reds)
Fair play to Luton, they certainly gave Liverpool a hard time of it.
At 3-1 to Luton, I as ready to switch off..
But yet again, Liverpool are a tougher propostion under Rafa Benitez and showed good spirit to fight back and win.
A few years ago we would have lost a match like that.

Two stunning goals from Xabi Alonso, that 80yard kick up the field was superb..just shows that if your a goalie, you are taking a big risk going up for corners.

Totally agree tunsty great game a lot like the Euro Cup Final the way they fought back.Gerrards first goal was class in it's self. Also that 40 yarder from Alonso wasn't too bad either.Again Rafa showed how well he reads a game and made the change when needed and made the right one too.
I think in the first half they fought they could play at half pace and win.But Luton was a lot better than they bargained for and played really well.

A great show for cup football by both teams and just shows how much magic the F.A. Cup still has.
Also what great results for Tamworth,Torquay and Nuneaton all drawing with clubs a lot bigger than them.
