All EA games run through EAs own servers. It's the reason why EA Sports games didn't have support for X-Box Live for so long. The reason for the glitches is just the latency of the EA servers.

The only thing I wish all of EAs games would implement, and I know it won't happen anytime soon, is dynamic animations. Canned animations are past their time, and there are plenty of resources to make it happen, but EA instead has chosen to use their own engines.

You're probably missing the drivers to recognize the device on your computer. Usually the cell phone will come with a CD. Pop that in your CD drive, install the drivers and that should take care of it. And if it makes it easier for you, you may be able to download them online from your carrier.

I think the gap between the PS3 and 360 is actually just about the fact that Sony did such a shitty job pushing major titles at launch. The 360 almost immediately had big names, and it took the PS3 nearly 6 months to even get a single large title game.
