The Montreal Canadiens have traded Jaroslav Halak to the ST.Louis Blues for 2 prospects.

I think it's clear that even though he played very well this season and had a phenomenal playoffs , Halak's value wasn't very high. Getting only a former 2007 first rounder and a third rounder in 2008 is not much. But I'm still not convinced that Halak can be a #1 goalie for a full season of at least 60 games.

awful decision for Montreal. that will bite them in the ass.

yeah yeah. Toronto gave away rounds 1, 2, 4, AND 6!

I swear, I'm a fucking idiot, and I could run that franchise better than the twat-hating cock-holsters doing it now.

I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to play somewhere else after all the **** the fans have put him through. Canadiens fans have totally forgotten that Price was a big part of the team that was first in the Conference a few years ago. The way they talk about him, you think he had never had a good game in his life. Montreal praises players when they are doing good, but as soon as they start playing bad the entire city turns on them. For my money, I'd say Montreal has some of the worst fans in the entire league. :2 cents:

Wounder what surprises the Leafs will have for us soon.......Well they picked their captin anyway

Theodore was once their hero , then he started playing poorly and got traded. Now when he comes back to montreal they boo him the entire game. Same for Kovalev , he was the king onf montreal and then gainey doesnt re-sign him . Now when he comes to play against the habs with the sens they boo him too.
So don't be surprised if they start booing Halak the when the Blues come to town next season. I really don't get how the montreal canadiens fans think , I can see fans booing a player who asks for a transaction or a guy that decides to sign with another team even though he gets an offer from the canadiens, but when the guy wants to stay and montreal decides to let him go by trade or by not re-signing him why do they boo him when he comes back with his new club ? When Brad Richards came back to tampa with the Dallas Stars after he got traded , no one booed him , he got a standing ovation , the same happened for Dan Boyle. In Montreal they would have been booed just for being former habs.

Well what do you expect from fans that like to destroy parts of their city every playoffs even if they win.

I'm stumped. You'd think they'd understand the game of hockey a little better than that.

The first time Messier came back to NY they had to delay the game for 20 mins for the ovation he got.

Damian Crisdotero is reporting that Karri Ramo's agent, Mark Gandler, has announced his client will stay with Avangard Omsk of the KHL next season. Ramo is entering the second and final year of his deal with the Russian club. He was the starting goaltender for Team Jagr at the KHL All-Star Game last season.

looks like we won't be seeing Ramo in a Bolts sweater next season. Tokarski maybe? or perhaps we try to get Koshechkin to come over from Russia? or could we be looking for an established goalie already in the NHL?

i wouldn't mind seeing Dan Ellis join us. he's not too pricey, he has the skill and he used to play with Smitty. maybe getting back to basics with a former teammate would help Smith too.
