that was a most impressive win by the Gators. Alabama came to play and would have beaten just about anybody. so count me happy and impressed. Rainey had a groin pull and w/Harvin sidelined, that was a huge performance by Tebow. Go Gators! now let's hope they don't cheated out of the NC game.
Why would they? The beat previously unbeaten and #1 Alabama in the last game of the regular season. I've heard some stuff today suggesting that Florida being left out of next month's national championship game is a possibility, but that would be ridiculous and if it did happen it should spell the end of the BCS immediately. I heard one announcer say that if that were to happen he wouldn't watch the national championship game. I think I'm with him 'cause if Florida isn't there then there really IS something wrong with the system. The Gators deserve to be there, no 'ifs,' 'ands,' or 'buts' about it and if they AREN'T there next month then as far as I'm concerned that would render that game irrelevant.

If there is a God, with all the problems in the world today, I'd be really fucking disappointed if he gave a rat's ass about the NCAA.
Thank you!! My sentiments on the matter, EXACTLY! :glugglug:

Oklahoma's good, no question about it, but in my opinion Texas is better and I'm not sure the Longhorns could beat Florida this season. I'd make the Gators at least a 7 point favorite against the Sooners in the national championship game. At this point I'll be surprised if we get anything other than a Florida Gators 2008 - 09 national football champions outcome next month.

What a shame we won't have an opportunity to find out. Also, I think your assessment of Florida's considered superiority over Oklahoma is way off but at least we will have a chance to find out in a few weeks. My guess is that the Sooners will be a slight favorite....maybe 2-3 points. We'll see.

BCS SUCKS!!!

Whatever happens I just hope things get as mucked up as possible for the whole national championship thing as I do every year. I figure as long as there is controversy and things keep screwing up eventually they will have to institute a playoff system despite themselves. Then again this is college football and logic isn't one of their strong suits. Hopefully that means something like Okalahoma playing Florida in the national championship game and winning by the score of 3 to 0 in one of the most sloppy games of all time while Texas wins whomever they play against by like 63 to 0. :1orglaugh

You know what has set Florida apart from the other top teams (with the possible exception of Texas) this season? The fact that they play both good OFFENSE and good DEFENSE. I was actually surprised that Alabama scored 20 points on them. Oklahoma's been scoring TONS of points lately, as anybody who's been following college football knows, but on defense they are not, in my opinion, as stout as Florida is. Besides, you're a self-proclaimed "Big XII guy" so I think it's safe to say that your assessment is perhaps a bit biased. I, on the other hand, neither hail from either Big XII or SEC country nor do I care much for either Oklahoma or Florida. Therefore, I think my opinion is a bit more neutral than yours. I don't know what the line will be for the national championship game next month, but if it were up to me I'd make the Gators the favorite. And with good reason, too, 'cause I think they're gonna win that game and become national football champions for the second time in three seasons.

man, let's have texas vs usc...fuck the bcs ****...we need to put the top teams going against the top teams...not a texas vs ohio state and a usc vs penn state...who wants to watch that ****?

Well you dont speak for everyone. I would like some of match ups you mentioned.

I am not USC's camp this year, there are teams more deserving. You are in the same camp as us Big 10 teams in the past two years. Dominate team in a weak conference.

No way USC's defense would hold in a BCS matchup, you can score, but the other teams could just as easily.

well, i wouldnt wanna see another boring game in the rose bowl...another penn state or ohio state getting blown out of the water...i would love to watch a texas and usc match up...utah vs penn state...something along those lines...florida vs okla...now, that's going to happen already...

same could be said about usc

Well we beg to differ.... You are clearly not in my camp...

GO BUCKS!

He's right though. Their "D" is pretty good, not great. You can't let OreSt tear you up like that. And Pryor did some things against them.

They had not had a GREAT "D" in about 3 or 4 years.

What did Pryor do against USC? He ran to the sideline on a 3 and out because SC clowned The Ohio State University. Pryor was in over his head against SC. The SC loss to oregon state is not exactly surpising because USC blows a conference game every year. However, oregon state rallied after that big win and had a respectable season...although they came down to earth against the Ducks.

Penn State ****** badly against Iowa--a nothing team. Florida got punked by Ole Miss--a nothing team. Great teams lose to chumps in CFB. It happens.

USC's defense is the best in the nation. There isn't another Defense that's really even in the discussion. I would put Florida's D at #2. USC didn't even fucking blitz today because they didn't have to. It was obvious ucla was not capable of winning the game. USC's offense is another story and I'm not certain how our Offense will do against a good Defense like Penn State. I could see Mark Sanchez throwing INTs. I do not believe USC is worthy of slipping by Texas for the NC game should Okie chokie. But Okie is putting a beatdown on Mizzou and they will be playing Florida for the NC.

I really think it's a close matchup. I give a slight lean to Okie for offense but a wider lean to Florida for Defense. It should be a 6 pt line I bet...maybe a Florida 6 pt edge because the game is in Miami. But I do think Okie's offense is the best in the nation and could win the game. Sam Bradford looks much more polished than Jason White ever looked.

ohio state? your playing texas...not good for you guys

Stranger things have happened this season... Hard to believe Texas would over look playing the Buckeyes. There was a little rivalry a couple years ago and a 1-1 split matchup. They have beat Colt McCoy...

Ohio State will be a 17 point underdog and they will get rolled. Texas could claim the AP National Title if Florida loses to Okie. Texas will come to play and put up a big number against the Luckeyes.

ohhh, dont get me wrong...texas isnt going to over look ohio state, the fact that, they win over ohio state and florida or okla wins in the title game, texas has a agruement and again, we might have to split the title into 2 schools

my point exactly, thanks...texas will not over look ohio state at all...more like you dont wanna be playing a pissed off texas team

USC beat the crap out of them, but it was Pryor's 3rd game and 1st against a real team. He has got better all season.

I agree Penn State's defense is very solid and there offense has shown signs of life in most games.

I am amazed how well Florida's defense tighten down in the 2nd half. I would have to agree, they took Alabama out of the game. Very nice adjustments for a defense.

actually bama had the gator d on the ropes in the 3rd quarter...but the 4th quarter came and the gator d stepped up...they showed a stat...-9 yards in the 4th quarter for bama...
