I think both male and female adults are and always had sexual relationships of various kinds with minors. And this will continue. And we all surely know of cases where this happened, but there was no harm in it.

The problem is, in many (Most?) cases, there is pressure, violence, psychological harm involved, so we must have those rules that prohibit this.

Like so many other issues, this is not black and white. And, coming back to that hypothetic situation of my 15-year old daughter starting something with a 30-year-old man: I would say: You two will wait until she is at least 16. And you, my man, will come over regularily so I get to know you, and can be sure, you are a good guy.

thing is, as much as it was a turn on to think about my teachers, bottomline is if the shoe was on the other foot, there would be such public outcry about a male teacher doing it to female students. it's a hot fantasy but in real life, it can't be acceptable becuase there can be no double standard in law. what continues to puzzle me is why SO MANY women are doing it? midlife crisis? getting someone to fuck a woman is one of the easiest things, a woman merely has to suggest she is giving it up easily and she would have grown men lined up at her door for some free scoring. so why do it with teens? is it that they are around them all the time? is it they blur the line of professionalism? are women just as debased and sexual 'animals' as men but hide it better? it's just one of the few things in this life that really totally boggles me and i would love some insight into this issue as to the actual psychology of it all.

And if one of these adult female/underage male relationships results in a pregnancy, who is responsible for providing for the child? In one case, an underage male was required to pay child support (or his parents - I can't remember). Also, since several of these women have been pretty promiscuous, what happens if she gives the underage male an STD? So many things that people who think this is "cool" never consider. And who is to say that every 14-16 year old male is ready for a sexual relationship, as well as the consequences involved when the "relationship" doesn't work out? These predatory females are JUST as bad as the predatory males who do this. The problem is, society gives female sex offenders a pass, especially if they are attractive. The double standards promoted in this thread are just a mirror of western society these days.

Unlike you, who was God's gift in High School and when fathers met you slap you on the shoulder and call you son, there was probably a lot of effort with little reward when they(to be honest we) were dating as a teenager. I don't recall seeing anything them referencing about a son or daughter, just on their personal experience(s). For me, I would have been too paranoid thinking someone was trying to set me up to even consider anything close to it. But I will say that I probably would be charged with Obstruction of Justice because they would get NOTHING out of me.

It's not like this is anything new. It has been happening for ages, the difference is just now we ive in a society of social media and where people are opening up about it.

The conflict is between those who think that human beings should be 100% nonsexual until they miraculously and spontanuously turn into beings with a sexuality at the day of the age of consent and those who accept that every human being has a sexuality, we have it already before we are born. What goes above most people's head is: Sexuality is not the same as sex, and sex is not the same as fucking.

Next issue - the age of consent is only in theory a fixed date. In reality, every human being ages differently and is growing into an adult being ar its own speed and, in an ideal society, should be okay to live its sexuality at a time of its own choice. Sadly, an ideal society is not what we have nor what is possible. Yet that does not mean we can't work towards it.

Wrapping this up: Every case of sex between an adult and a younger person is to be judged seperately, and blanket judgements are stupid and contraproductive, as usual.
