Windows XP Service Pack 2

Howdo,

just a quick question, totally the wrong place to ask...(porn site and all)...but i trust the people here a bit more then some dweb teenage computer 'hacker'....those fags should have there balls ripped off and.........anyways

does anybody know how to turn off the add blocking?....not the pop ups but the [ad] .....its highly usefull but on some sites it will actually block thumbnail pics thinkin they are adverts...which can be a bit of a pain.....

anyway help would be most apreciated

I didn't install SP2, but is ad-blocking why I sometimes get a page full of broken image links?

I'm using FireFox, and at first I thought it was because of FF's pop-up blocker, but I didn't get any messages that a pop-up was blocked.

So is there something in Windoze that's causing this?

Hey SiliconeTits,

Do you get like a little yellow bar across the top of your screen
just below the address bar. It sould say some thing that it blocked. If you click on it, it should let you view what it blocked.
Even in your email there will be a bar that comes up click on it
and it will let you view it.

I have heard people are have problem with sp2 and none the same.
Like me when I save a pic I can only save it as a bmp. when before they where jpg.
Also my computer came with record now to burn CD's now it
locks up or some thing I have to turn the thing off and then back
on to get the CD out.

My mom tried to uninstall it and the thing crashed. She lost every thing. So who knows. Hope this helps.

Microsoft is on top of stuff like no other company I've done business with. Smart people.

go to the tools, internet options, privacy (tab), settings (lower), and then disable the bar (and sound if u prefer) at the bottom (check). Okie Dokie?:glugglug:

the bitmap thing happens to me occasionally....it's happend before tho too....basically if you clear out your history and temp internet files....you should be ok! :)

and as to the yellow box thing....yeh that does come up but thats only for pop ups....not for actual blocked advertising on the page...

you need to change something on your privacy settings on your firewall.....

i cant remember exactly ...but i had the same problems with Norton Personal Firewall and by enabling ***** privacy.....it then worked...

i used agnitium outpost firewall tho now....and that is just fantastic....totally customizable...and doesnt even slow your computer down one bit

I'd suggest deleting windows and putting up a Linux OS.

:nanner:

i'd love to use linux....but its still not compatible with all the stuff i use!

as with the privacy tab thing....nah that doesnt work.....

its actually an integeral part of service pack 2....allthough i cant understand why the other guy hasnt experienced this....

bassically....if you go to a site...say askjolene.com ....and do a search....all the links will come up but the preview pics wont...instead it will be a little [ad] thingy....which is great for blocking out adverts...but its catching pics too!!!! :(

dude relax....im being dumb as per usual....its not XP its my firewall....just found the option....

Do'H!

still tho check out the program....its very very very good....

the [ad] works great now ive customised it...

THANX ALOT tho fella's really apreciate it!

Check out MyIE or FireFox. Both (or one of them) has built-in pop-up blocker.

Both are free and you'll love it! I guranteed. You can spank me if you're not satistfy.

Well, download Mandrake and it will more or less automatically partition your harddrive and set up a nice bootloader for you so you can choose which system you want to run. That way, when you need to use something non-Linux compatible, you boot up in Windows and do your stuff there before you return to the promised land of UNIX where the wildebeests (gnus) run wild and free. And you will be able to get a hold of your Windows files from Linux.

Find a good mirror and have a go at it.
