I'd heard that there were spyware files on WMP, so I ran Spybot. It found a few files, although I'm sure if they were necessarily spyware, as I believe it only shows suspicious files. However, they didn't look good to me, so I deleted them.
The problem I've got now is half the time I try to play a video it gives me this message, "downloading codec," followed by "error downloading codec," and then I only get the audio portion of the file. I've tried getting patches to update my codecs, and even uninstalling then reinstalling WMP altogether, but I'm still at the same place I was before.
Anyone know how to solve this problem? Also, can anyone confirm whether or not WMP has spyware? If it does have spyware, are there any good players out there that don't.... BTW, I never use RealPlayer as I KNOW that has spyware and all kinds of other crap hidden inside the program.
