Will The Apocalypse Be Televised?

With the coverage of today's quake in Chile and the wait for the tsunami to hit Hawaii, I got to thinking if and when "the end of the world" happens if it will be on television for all to see and to hear a play by play account of it.
In Hawaii, there were people hanging out waiting for the big wave to appear.
There were Skype reports from a Chilean apartment.
I'm not against the coverage; it keeps us up to date, I'm just throwing this out there.
