Why isn't Soccer popular in America?

Simply put, because it's boring. Americans want action and action means scoring. Watching a soccer game is like watching one of those old electronic football games where the board vibrates and the plastic players bounce around like a bunch of ******* rednecks.

I'm sorry to say, but that is slightly true. I had one of those games when I was a ***. Also, soccer is more exciting/interesting to ******** here, than full-grown adults. In America, **** have soccer teams and play in their league.
***/*** take them to the game and watch them, because they have to.
The term "soccer ***" is often used for those ******* who drive the van full of **** to their game. I don't hear the phrase "soccer wife".

How is golf more popular than soccer, really?

Because old people can play it too.

That, and it's mostly just popular among rich, or 'well-off' people, like doctors and lawyers and business executives.

...and they're all made out of ticky-tacky and they all look just the same...

And who controls the media? Those same people. So it appears more popular than it is.

I'd rather watch an MLS game than I would a LaCrosse game, and there's a shitload of scoring in Major League Lacrosse. Scoring isn't everythin. Again, I think this is because soccer was hella fun for me to play. I loved it. Striker was the ****.

And Moonchild, crawl out from under your rock. I'm from the inner city and I played golf when I was younger, and I was middle class at best. I just used to hop on when I was a ***. Now everyone at my local muni just lets me play for free they all know me so well.

Is there such a thing as Major League Lacrosse? If so, why isn't it on TV? A bunch of guys running around with sticks and scoring a lot of points; that sounds like what hockey should be.

You either have no idea what your talking about or you just lost your mind. The greatest hockey games are the ones with two world class goalies making 45 saves a piece.

No, I, like most Americans, just don't like hockey.

It is on TV, just not in "red" states where the majority of folks are inbred **** kickers.

Well, you're from Alabama. :1orglaugh What a **** state. No pro teams of any sort and only a shitty university football program. Good lord, what an exhilarating place to live.

That's fine.:dunno: But to real hockey fans my post is exactly what most want to see. It doesn't matter but I'm American and my favorite sport is hockey.

And saying most is relative. If everyone in this country was asked if they like the NFL I promise that more than half would say no.

FYI, numnuts, Auburn is also in Alabama.

This is the same with the soccer argument, at least for a segment of Americans. If you haven't been raised in the North Midwest or the North East you're just not going to have a hell of a lot of familiarity with the game. One thing is for certain: it's not a game for pussies. :nono:

I agree with that. I don't like the NFL either.

Got that right ******! Only 3 months away. I'm getting psyched already.

I'm pretty sure I had at least two concusions in my career. The last year I played I got rattled so bad by this fat bastard. I had headaches for a couple weeks after that. I was always too proud to talk about that **** though so I just played through it. Stupid, but it is what it is. I know I handed out a bunch of concusions in my career. :hatsoff:

It definitely used to be that way, especially in hockey. No one talked about concussions.
