Why isn't Soccer popular in America?

I hardly think the U.S. is the only country that doesn't care for soccer. So begs the question, why do you really care? It's just as dumb as an American who tries to push American football on Europeans. There should be some kind of saying about not being disappointed when trying to push your passions onto other people who don't share same passions.
This pretty much says it all about how most Americans see it
tradition. While **** for the last couple decades have grown up with the sport, it hasn't become a staple in the ******. NFL-style football is worshipped, while the other sports are kicked to the curb.
Americans have yet to develop a sure-fire way to make money from betting on the games. Let's face it, the NFL would not be nearly as popular as it is now if there weren't so many ways to ****** on it.

Because we like to skin cows for the cover of the balls in our sports. Skinning a dalmatian is just wrong. Cows are also tasty so it doesn't go to waste. Dalmatians are too cute and also kind of tough and stringy and not nearly as delicious.

That's not true. If it was, teams would simply buy the best players from around the world. Look at baseball.
Anyway, Meesterperfect's right. It's boring. Or at least it is to us. Field's too big, the camera's too wide and there's not enough scoring. We're used to faster-paced **** here and there's already too many alternatives.
Soccer isn't popular for several reasons:
-Small tv coverage...this ones a catch-22.
-Our best athletes aren't highly compensated to play it...another catch-22.
-Many other competing sports and other diversions...baseball, NFL football, basketball, golf, fishing, reality tv, movie theaters, camping, sailing/boating, surfing, concerts, clubbing, etc. (I personally like the sport, as well as all of the above...except reality tv.)
I don't buy too much into the low-scoring aspect turning people off. Baseball and hockey are often low-scoring.
I do buy into us liking only the sports where we can win; but then again, so are other countries. Eventually, sports do catch on elsewhere. Baseball is #1 in Japan and in several Latin-American countries. Basketball is huge in Europe now.

There's soccer fans here in the United States because when the big clubs from Europe come over here to play exhibition matches they usually sellout in 40,000 plus seat stadiums. You can't say that theirs no interest when that happens.
^^A lot of that interest comes from the European and Latin American fans though. I am a former season ticket holder of an MLS team (Chgo Fire), which often fills in its new, relatively small stadium. But when the friendly matches come (U.S. vs. Italy, U.S. vs. Mexico, Poland vs. Mexico, etc.), the majority of Soldier Field (50k+) is filled with fans of the visiting team!

I agree. Plus MLS teams cannot go on a spending spree and buy all the best European players because there is a salary cap in MLS unlike other sports particularly MLB.
