Not trolling, being serious. I get there are prima facie grounds for impeaching the guy, but everyone knows it will be the Senate who will be making the actual vote. They'd have to turn at least 4 senators just to get a simple majority, and they need a freaking super majority (2/3).
So basically the show is doomed to start with, and much like the russia probe, exonerating him is only going to make him stronger. There is literally no new information coming out in the proceedings, so it's not like there was going to be new ammunition to use in an election.
And Dems were reluctant to even start impeachment proceeding because they knew it would only motivate his supporters.
So what was the point of all this? If the senate was dem controlled, then maybe I see a point. But all this fuss, when knowing it's going to fail, means he's likely to benefit from impeachment than be hurt by it.
