It's good to be the king...
Public Enemy

Followed by:

Dr Dre
Afrika Bambaataa & Soul Sonic Force
Run DMC
Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five
The Cold Crush Brothers
Eric B And Rakim
De La Soul
wu-tang clan
ice cube

For me it has to be mainly old skool ('cause I'm an old fool who's so cool........:D)

Zack De La Rocha, but I guess he's not what you had in mind.

On this list, Public Enemy.

Dr. Dre is the best rapper on this list. He was the best rapper in NWA and had the most significant rap career for the past 15 years...

Tupac is the most overrated rapper ever...imo.

what the fuck you lookin at?
I voted for the band "They all fucking blow"

Bone Thugs and The Roots do it for me. I also have alot of respect for the more "underground" hip hop artists like Atmosphere and Aesop Rock.

What no soljer boy?;) #1 Lupe Fiasco after that its Bone Thugs and gotta rep the Bay Area cats. Dont really listen to this genre of music, but if i do its usually only Lupe.

what, no Run DMC?

everyone's gotta love them.

I really only like political rap. public enemy, NWA on this list. It doesn't get much betetr than "fight the power!" and "don't believe the hype."

I really like ded prez. they have a song about veganism.

and my favorite all time, the revolutionary immortal technique.

"How can this be? The land of the free and the home of the brave; indigenous holocaust and the home of the slaves. Corporate America dancin off beat to the rhythm. You really think this country never sponsored terrorism?"

Out of the list, The Roots are my favorite. Although I also like Saul Williams, Outkast, Lupe Fiasco, Ludacris, Pastor Troy, Pitbull, etc.

Not a big fan. But I did vote for Cypress Hill, because I like some of their stuff. I also like Method Man, Beastie Boys and Insane Clown Posse. And let me just say it was poor thinking and also possibly racist to leave Beastie Boys off of that list. (I don't really think it's racist, just wanted to play the race card for once, instead of having it played against me.)

Cypress Hill is okay and Method is cool, but you lost all credibility with the other two. The reason the Beastie Boys aren't on there is because they're garbage. Plus, a lot of people associate them with Rock, too.

Big ups to those that mentioned some underground hip-hop. My favorite "mainstream" rapper is Common, but underground has to be either Illogic or Cryptic-one.
