Who should have been President?

Ha! I was gonna say that. If he would have been given the Presidency like he won, we would not have been in this shithole we're in.

Exactly.. If Al Gore wasn't such a good man, he probably would have been a great Prez. Most men would have continued to fight it. Just look at the republican candidate for gov. in Minnesota. I mean that's for fucking governor! That long!! Yes, Al really should have been our president and we would actually being doing well or atleast better than we are now.

If it were paylin' the russians would have been nailin her by now... as is it russia is a stones throw from her place.

Sarah Palin.

That way she'd be in the limelight all the time. And we'd have like fifty million pictures of her, and video clips, ect. All the more for me to choke the chicken to.

But to be a little more serious I'd say Chuck Norris.

The candidate who won the most electoral votes.

rush limbaugh for president!

OMFG!! Are u fucking kidding me.. Fuck that asswipe! I hope he gets ass raped by the christian god. Fuck him! Are country would be fucked. Hell we are already fucked from the brainwashing bullshit he already spews.

Honestly, I can't think of anyone on the planet who I want to wield the kind of power that the Office of the President has acquired over the last 80 years, which isn't so much an indictment on politicians or humanity in general, but on our own foolish surrendering of power to an office that was Constitutionally defined in a limited fashion simply because no single man or woman should have as much authority as the President now has. Give it back to Congress. Give it back to the states. And stop expecting one man to be the savior of an entire nation. It can't be done, and it shouldn't be done.

Good question. Why is it every 4 years we get to chose between 2 piles of shit for president? When there are what hundreds of millions of people in America. Granted, children can't run a country but aside from that we should be allowed to write in anyone. Anyone at all! And whoever gets the most votes becomes president. Simple! Might take a few days to count it all, but fuck it would be better than the jacked up system we have now!

because its set up. the 2 parties actually control by sitting on the board of elections as to whom is allowed in the debates. and if you aint one of them, guess what? you are out. ross perot scared them to death with his rise in the polls in the 90s and they made sure after that to control it all. study it and you will see im right and how it really works.

why do you think they ignored ron paul and even banned him from a fox news debate even though he was polling higher than more than a few that was allowed to be there?

I agree almost completely, though I do think the expansion of Presidential power began with Andrew Jackson, who, oddly enough, believed in more power to the states, and who also refused to enforce a Supreme Court ruling. The expansion began then, and has just continued to snowball in the last 80 years. I'm also iffy on the power that Congress now has.
The whole federal government, in my opinion, is too big and has too much power. More and more it seems that we look too much to the President and Congress to solve all of our problems, when, in all likelihood, we could solve most of our own problems. As you said, give more power back to the states.
The power of the federal government now reminds me of what Gerald Ford said: "A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have."
