When it comes down to it, there IS far less of a demand for black females in porn, but more so than the 200-2005 timeframe when you couldn't really find that porn, much of it being compilations or really awful crap. Look at our own freeones threads where the number of pages for the newer performers are far lower.

Socioeconomic status also has something to do with it. Has anyone noticed the relative lack of Asian-American performers over the last few years even though there's a large sized talent pool right there in California (not going to get into California's threatened status as capital of the porn world) for the taking.

There are little to no mainstream Asian males performers either, except a guy named Keni Styles. I don't think there will be many either, as Asian-American men continue to skew closer to the top of the economic ladder.

There are plenty of black women but they seem to be mostly relegated to niche markets - for example, marketed on sites that make a point of featuring black women. I'm a white man who is hot for black women and have found some amazing ones online in recent years.

The problem is also observed by the fact that "black" women get a special label. "Normal" sites offer "normal" white girls.
In response to what people posted earlier in this thread, I do think it is a matter of supply and demand. The thing is, that does explain how it can happen but not why it happens. It is not an explanation in the full sense.
My guess would be that for some reason "white" girls are more favored by the entire (male) market. Assuming that the market is composed of man of all ethnicities that would mean that the "white" girl is the ideal girl.
Perhaps power relations can be a part of the answer, after all just decades ago people spoke of the "white man's burden": the white people were the most progressed technologically and economically and therefore the most powerful. (the "burden" was that the white poeple had the duty to help the others progress) Because they were the most powerful they were able to influence the system a lot more then the others.
In the current age, this especially refers to American hegemony.

Important: I do not agree with the White man's burden ideas or anything of that sort, above all else I'm a european first, and a cosmopolitan second.

But that's just what I think, powers shapes perceptions. And competition leads to imitation (of the "best" practice).

This is a good post....But lets be honest it's the old divide and conquer left over bullshit from all the white man's old colonialism refer to the below video. All media is geared towards exemplifying the white man and those old practices have had a cultural impact on the other races like chinese and blacks etc.

It's true, quite a few do fall into the "niche" markets someone mentioned; you're not going to be able to avoid that, unfortunately. However, thanks to sites like Newbie Black and Round and Brown, many of the new starlets that break into the business often hit those sites first. Exploited Black Teens is another good site to view, as well as Bang Bros.

Chicks that have "white" features (Marie Luv, Nikki Fairchild, Lacey Duvalle) have an easier time "crossing over" and showing up in the better studios.

I think black and biracial female stars are getting a lot more exposure due to the Florida based sites and their willingness to use black female talent. I think a lot of the chicks they feature are VERY unattractive, but if you like black women, things are getting better.

Agreed, a lot of these newer studios and sites are putting out a lot of material; albeit not all of it is "top shelf". For every five black chicks they feature, two to three will rate at least a "B" or better.
