The heavily armored lil brutes :1orglaugh

Also thinking about ditchin the solid state (transistorized) radios and electronic ignition.
What's that particular nook called that essentially fries anything and everything transistorized ?

i live in an earthquake zone, near a nuclear plant, prone to wildfires, mudslides, and economic collapse. here's a short list of "essentials"

negator

#1. Move

#2. See rule number one. ;)

where's the US Armed ****** Statistical Manuel on how to survive on a minimum wage job?

You can make more money on welfare, and collecting cans.

You won't have to put up with a fat, arrogant, greedy, "boss."

Premium Link Upgrade ? you can prevent that with a Premium Link Upgrade .

i want to touch a little more on the Premium Link Upgrade
Petra had some very good ideas pertaining to storm areas. everyone will have to tailor theirs individually based on needs, location, and space limitations.

do a Premium Link Upgrade and you will find everyone and their *******'s ideas about what it needs to have, usually spiralling into a 15-page discourse on which rifle cartridge is best at 300 yards. . .

meh.

the bug-out-bag should be light enough to walk comfortably out of your area if you need to, several miles if neccessary. i reccommend one backpack for each ****** member and one for each vehicle. the vehicle kit should be a little more comprehensive, but still light.
anything going into the bag should be dual-use if possible, to save space and weight.
my bobs are for two adults and two 8-yr olds. we used old back-packs. each pack contains the following:

1 can of food - something that is fairly balanced and can be eaten cold. (the Premium Link Upgrade )
dual use - save the can.
1 pkg of ramen. the noodles can be eaten dry, sucked over time like hard-tack. the seasoning packet can be used if you end up eating rat.
1 bottle of ******** water. more, if you can spare the weight. (and sip only! you're no camel)
1 Premium Link Upgrade must have a can-opener and a *****.
current photos of each ****** member with the name written on the back
1 whistle (to call for help etc)
1 compass.
1 watch.
1 small radio. they make these as small as a ball-point pen.
1 Premium Link Upgrade
Premium Link Upgrade used for first-aid and general clean-up. (tootie)
various bandaids. not a first aid pack. if you are hurt really bad, it won't help.
various cash.
Premium Link Upgrade or equivalent. i found Premium Link Upgrade for the ****. (read it first, i found some errors there)
datailed maps of your area, with clearly marked locations and routes. have a planned rally point if you get separated and lose contact.
stick matches and a lighter.
1 gallon size freezer-storage bags.
dog-tags.
small notebook or journal and pencil and pen and sharpie.
small long-life led flashlight.
whatever clothes you'll need: think socks, bright-colored, and layers.
your Premium Link Upgrade .

in addition, each pack is personalized with comfort items, pharmaceuticals and extras, as needed.

and now, the ***. do you need one? i think so. to protect youself and your posessions, and to hunt, if necessary.
my recommendation: Premium Link Upgrade
it's light, dual-use, floats, is easy to shoot, is cheap, and a life-time-supply of ammo fits in one pocket.

bottom line, the bug-out bag should fit somewhere out of the way, and get you out of the house in under five minutes. it should also complement your home emergency kit, but not replace it.

hope this helps.:condom:

EMP is real scary stuff. And your right Facetious it makes everything solid state inoperable.I saw a pub from MD once that said in special order session on the house floor where they can talk at lenght that if the East coast of the US had this done to it, the study by the govt showed within a year because of being unable to get supplies to people Manhattan Island would have 200,000 people left living out of the 6 million there now.

When the **** hits the fan everyone will be going apeshit, and I'll be laughing my ass off. The thought of millions of pathetic maggots fleeing and trying to hide from an imminent doom amuses me. We're going to hell in a handbasket on a rocketship.

You'll be screaming with the rest of us when reality shows up in the form of some disaster. Quit pretending you're Satan. Not to mention the fact that if you look at history- *MOST* of the time, people do pretty well following a disaster. New Orleans being an obvious exception. But Florida cities and towns have usually done very well at helping one another and getting things cleaned up.

****- the entire island of Galveston, Texas was wiped out by a hurricane. People still live there to this day.

So all the goofy entropy stuff is cool when you're sitting in your powered house, typing at a computer and dressing all in black. But once a disaster strikes, my guess is, you'll be staggering around like everyone else.

I'm glad I don't live in NY. I fear for my fellow Americans that live on the East Coast. All the more reason for people to get it right with God. When it comes down to it, that's all you can do. :2 cents:

I'd like to think that the "****" will be the type in which I can shelter in place.
If not, there's going to be a lot of people going nowhere in a hurry.

I think that it's time to go all out RURAL and be a smaller target profile. :yesyes:

YMMV - literally !

^ Great link, Negator !

Although I had envisioned a porta potty with that post title lol !

Seriously though, some people have to see things for themselves in order
to get their **** together, well . . get it together people ! 'cause it's never good showing up at the bash when the kegs are dry.

Look at the pic ^ of this meat department ! I'd strongly encourage those of you who scoff at the idea of being self sufficient to get a new outlook on things.
This whole notion that it is only extremist militant white guys who prepare for possible unknown calamities, you may take to your grave.

This is a subject I think that is not really left or right. We may have different views on the threats but many of us think the "world as we know it"
may unravel at least to some extent in the relatively near future. For me it is a combination of things like climate change and the fall out from that which may put billions in real peril and the tensions that would result in.We may see wars over resources even though those resources are doing so much damage. It's like I heard recently someone said that for us to really do anything about climate change that would condemn 3 billion people on the planet to permanant poverty and that is probably true. Not to mention that the developed nations would have to radically reduce consumption with a corresponding lose of living standard. So bottom line is we won't do very much about climate change and will just have to wait and see what that means. What was that "Mad Max" movie where the world was a few survivors fighting for the one gas truck?

that's right. survival is not all gloom-and-doom.
survival is a happy thing!:sunny:
but, it might get smelly for a while.
but we've got pantries, root cellars, and a plan, with friends and ****** all in on it.

here's a site packed with info, some of it useless:

anything from there should be ingested with a grain of salt. (bill frist's advice on a safe room?)

but mostly helpful.
