whats the best DVD you own

not my cuppa i must say....nice idea tho its just a bit macho and cheezy and the over use of swearing

im not to keen on the director tho....if you liked fast and the furious or XxX then you'll like it.....

This isn't my best DVD, it's the DVD I've been trying to get for years, however.... John Boorman's Excalibur . I believe it was released a few years ago, but am not sure of this. I could prolly find it on the net, but I've never been at all comfortable with shopping online. If anyone has this DVD, I'd be curious to know what, if any, extra features come with it. Thanks. :)

Gladiator is one of my favorite dvds.

SWAT did't do anything for me. Maybe I was expecting more.

The Italian job was cool.

The fast and the furious rules. But thats 'cos I love fast cars (have one too).

The Sopranos is another favorite. Most people don't understand it.

And again it's a matter of personal preference.

Cheers.

I finally watched SWAT tonight, what a great fucking movie, great story, and some good action sequences and suspense. Also had some great music in it, a very entertaining movie for me.

i have it....trailor and thats it....tho ive heard rumors of a special edition coming out.....god i love helen mirren...shes the only oldie i think i cud funk

Thanks for the reply, mate. This defo is one of my fav movies, it's killing me that i don't have it. I think I'll check the stores again tomorrow... maybe I can order it. Hopefully I can get the special edition, but I'll even be satisfied with the original.

Helen was kinda hot in that movie, wasn't she? Strange, but true.

Great movie... has everything you could ask for in a film. I even love the costumes...never seen cooler suits of armor in my life! :)

yeh and the end sequence where they play that piece of music when they go off to war is probably one of my fave scenes in film of all time

Thanks for the link, Silicone, but I went out shopping today, and after a couple of stores managed to find the same DVD you have, and also picked up "The Insider", a movie I've been meaning to get for some time. Just finished watching "Excalibur".... damn I love this movie! Don't know if your DVD cover is the same as mine, but I found it amusing how mine plays up the actors who've gone on to become big in Hollywood: Patrick Stewart, Liam Neeson, and Gabriel Byrne... but I guess that's showbiz! I was actually most impressed with Nigel Terry myself; I'm surprised he's not had more success in his career.

yeh nigel terry is a good actor

wasnt keen on the insider...thought it was good but it seemed awfully long winded for what easilly could of been a well paced 2 hour movie....and i dont like the fact oliver stone is into using a camera on his sholder rather then on the tripod....makes me dizzy... :)

good film tho still i have it on VHS

I just saw The Insider... coulda been a bit shorter, but I didn't really take issue with it's length. Then again, I love conspiracy films; they're never too short for me, lol! I've heard ppl say JFK was too long... not for me it wasn't! I'm mostly into acting and dialogue anyway... dialogue was good, acting was great!

BTW, I assume it was the conspiracy angle that made you think Oliver Stone was the director... it was actually Micheal Mann.

i have a few dvds some are a bit shit as dvd hadn't been out that long but the best film i have on dvd has got to be john carpeneters the thing.great extras even better film :)
