Yesterday I watched "Yankee Doodle Dandy" from 1942 James Cagney's bio of George M Cohan. Then saw the 1972 musical "1776" which I hadn't seen before.
On Thursday evening Turner Classic Movies is running:

Watched The Wild Bunch (1969) a couple of nights ago. It's like a Who's Who of iconic Hollywood legends and some of the greatest character actors of all time: William Holden, Robert Ryan, Warren Oates, Ernest Borgnine, Strother Martin, L.Q. Jones, et al.
I knew/read that it was one of the greatest westerns of all time, but I'd never seen it before. It's got nothing to do with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance *** (which was released the same year), but it has a similar feel to it... with a little Magnificent Seven thrown in. Hell of a western/buddy movie, with great action.
