Young Offenders

Two teenage boys from Cork steal bicycles and ride off on a quest to find a missing bale of cocaine worth 7,000,000 euros.

Saw it in AVX 3D and liked it. The 3D was done well, and there were some scenes where you could really feel the bass in the music. A movie worth seeing in a good theatre.

Also the idea of a shared universe with
GI Joe is intriguing, but they really have to be careful with how they do any crossovers.

What sort of changes were there? Just gore?

Not sure. I have not seen the rated version so I cannot compare the two.

Evil Dead Rise (2023) was fine. Didn't re-invent the wheel but is a competent entry into the series.

Onoda :-10,000 Nights in the Jungle

When Japan surrenders at the end of World War II, soldier Hiroo Onoda retreats into the jungles of the Philippines to continue the war himself for another 10,000 days

Let Him Go

An elderly couple set out to save their former daughter-in-law and their grandson from the clutches of her abusive husband and in-laws. Quite a gruesome film, and Diane Lane played her role really well as the mother.

The Death of Stalin

When tyrannical dictator Joseph Stalin dies in 1953, his parasitic cronies square off in a frantic power struggle to become the next Soviet leader. Among the contenders are the dweebish Georgy Malenkov, the wily Nikita Khrushchev and Lavrenti Beria -- the sadistic secret police chief. As they bumble, brawl and back-stab their way to the top, the question remains -- just who is running the government?

Ronin

Robert De Niro does it again

The Last Stand

Amazing true story, and interesting that it's a French film as it's based on a French book. I think he was disillusioned with post-war Japan that he went to South America and started a survival camp. Also interesting that he's one of several examples of such Japanese survivors.

I never expected a political comedy of the Stalin aftermath, but this looks good!
