I thought there was only one Suicide Squad movie.
Why did they use the same title, is it a remake, if not they should have called it Suicide Squad 2.
The first Suicide Squad from 2016 has an IMDB rating of 5.9, and the new one from 2021 has a rating of 7.5
The first one was ok but not memorable. I haven't seen the second one yet so tbc...

The first one was called "Suicide Squad" and the second was "The Suicide Squad".

The first one was great for 4 reasons: a good story line with Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne giving great performances.

As for #2, I thought with James Gunn directing, Margot Robbie returning and Idris Elba coming on board, this would be a home run, but the story line was just all over the place. Too many side characters, side stories, and a ridiculous script.

To be honest, DC just sucks.

The only DC movies that I thought were good was Suicide Squad and Aquaman. Batman vs Superman was decent just for killing Superman (YES!) and getting people to finally notice Gal Gadot.

Saw Suicide squad today at the cinema and i find the film far better than the original. What has baffled me and i think many is whether the film is a sequel, remake or a reboot. It like it fits in all 3

It like a sequel as they mention lines as if to say they know the in and outs of the operations, however it's a remake as its like a new story and doesn't stretch from the original film or references the old characters much.

far better indeed, good fun but the first one was so horrible that it was no challenge to do it better. But great fun
