What is the latest good film you watched ?

Taken.... it was a very good movie, thriller type of movie, sort of reminded me of something like Bullit or the French Connection, not action oriented like a Die Hard type of movies, which are still really good, but what action scenes there were they rocked. A salute to those who made it :hatsoff:
And, guys, on a personal note, with all those nude girls we see online, particularly those amateur types from Eastern Europe that we see around just once or twice, I really, really hope we're not contributing to some of what I saw in that movie. If the girls are doing it volutarily because they enjoy it, that's great, I enjoy seeing them posing nude and fucking. But if they're being forced into it.... I have a particular set of skills, skills that I've acquired over a very long career.... okay, had to end it on a funny note
Ditto pity there wasnt some unaccountable force running around whacking the mobs at this.

Michael Jackson's This Is It (2009)
Yes. Not QT's best but a very engrossing film. Great one on one acting.
Aliens - (Alien II) what a great scifi/horror movie. (currently I've got a Aliens/Predator fever hehe)
Aliens is one of my all-time favorites.

Quite possibly my favorite film of the past year. Kinda bummed there is going to be an American remake of it. Book was also fantastic.
As for the last film I watched either Man on Wire or Animal Crackers. I'm a sucker for TCM. :nanner:

All the reviews made me think this was going to be a pile of shit, so I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be pretty good.
Sure, it's got some major flaws, the iPod for example. No way could Apple make anything last 30 years. Also, they could have used someone else instead of Mila Kunis. An unknown actress would have been pretty good. Gary Oldman was pretty awesome. There was some great camera work too.
I did not see the twist coming at all, and I will definately be re-watching it to make sure they didn't cheat.

PANDORUM
It had some seriously great potential, and from the beginning built itself up on some seriously intense momentum. It started losing this momentum about 25 - 30 minutes in when the creatures took over more of the story, and by 55 - 60 minutes in I found myself glancing over my movie collection to see what else I could watch. I'd say it lost all intensity by the half hour mark, I mean those creatures were just so stupid. How could anyone past a 13 year old girl find those frightening? Even attempting to put myself in such a situation in my mind, all I could do is laugh. Pathetic.
SPOILERS - characters attacking each other for no reason? Fucking stupid. Where did they learn such advanced fighting techniques anyway? And with weapons at that... The "compassion" they showed for the baby/kid creatures... Get real. The action? Insipid. The actors were mostly boring and didn't seem very into their roles. The score wasn't even memorable.
I wanted to like Pandorum, I really did. When the trailers first started playing on television, I was really excited to see it. If you're anything like me, you'll get more entertainment out of the 30 second TV spot that makes this movie look like an intensely fun film than the movie itself. All that being said, the movie did have some decent moments and wasn't entirely devoid of entertainment, I just could have seen myself wasting 100 minutes of my time on better things.
