What is the latest good film you watched ?

I'm sorry. You should really check out the animated series that aired on HBO. While in the later episodes it deviates from the storyline of the comics, it was completely accurate to the tone and style, unlike the live action movie that sugar-coated AND changed the story.

I have the series and I love it. I just don't consider it a movie and I happen to like the movie.:)

HBO shit the bed on he follow up season. It was announced YEARS ago and they never aired it for some reason. Be it on McFarlane's end or their end i don't know, because no information is to be found as why oddly. It was a great series too. Although Violators whisper-voice gives me a chill.

what do you mean? they aired three seasons.

Kung Fu Panda, nice and good family entertainment

Comic Movie Marathon:
Constantine
If ever Constantine II gets off the ground, I definately think it should include Swamp Thing in some form. And if he's warmly recieved, possibly springboard him into his own feature film as well.

WB/DC really need to get the ball rolling on some of their other comic book properties that are not Batman and Superman. Lord knows they have had plenty of time.

WB/DC just recently had a summit meeting (just like Marvel does every year) where they were discussing their properties. One of the head guys said and I quote "We need to go ahead and think about how to best exploit our characters for tv, movies, games etc.... Excuse me, exploit, how about actually respecting your characters. Where the hell is the Wonder Woman movie, Green Lantern, Flash? No wonder Marvel's kicking butt, Warner has a bunch of idiots running that company. I say they should beg and pay Chris Nolan of butt load of money to draw up a list of how to make a kick ass comic film. Do you know one of the Warner execs. I think the top guy said that Wonder Woman wouldn't be successful because a woman can't lead a film. Excuse me? She's only been around since the 1940's and is one of the big three at DC Comics. Everyone of those idiots should be fired. Oh yeah, Constantine II would be awesome and I would love to see a remake of Swamp Thing. Good luck though on Warner Brothers getting their act together. I am so happy they decided to shelve Justice League Mortal. I say just follow what Marvel is doing and do solo films and then come with Justice League, don't make Justice League just to beat Marvel with Avengers or at least make Justice League animated. And don't hire people from the O.C. to play the Justice League unless your doing a Smallville Justice League movie.

With the sequel coming up, thought I'd better fill myself in on the story so far. It was pretty good I guess, exactly how I imagined it would be. Good... Not great.

That line of thinking is clear evidence that WB has really no idea what to do with any comic book character created by DC Comics besides of course Superman, and Batman. To which those characters inparticular, they have had experience, as well as great success. Why they have continued to basically larely ignore other DC properties is proof that after Superman and Batman, WB doesnt have a fucking clue.

Warner has a bunch of idiots running that company.

Given that here we are in the year 2008, right in the middle of a comic book movie boom, and they havent done shit with 98% of the DCU, this is a fair statement. It's like I told a friend of mine ... good or bad... Marvel is getting movies made of their characters. And I applaud them for that. DC/WB has, and continues to drop the ball on this. The fact that they act as if they are in some way just realizing this is sheer ineptness.

Wonder Woman has name recognition right up there with Supes, Bats, Hulk, and Spidey. To say it would bomb because of a female lead is simply ridiculous. You get a good director, a female lead that can not only play the part, but also is someone a large majority can see, and accept as Lynda Carter's successor, and a script that rocks, people WILL see it. I really wish there was a time machine to go grab a mid-20's Jennifer Connelly for the role. She would have been fucking perfect. And looks alot like Adam Hughes Wonder Woman, which I love as well. :lovecoupl

Oh yeah, Constantine II would be awesome and I would love to see a remake of Swamp Thing.

Yeah, the reason I mentioned Swamp Thing being brought in for Constantine II, is because Constantine himself first appeared in a Swamp Thing comic book. Both are Vetigo, and both are forever intertwined as well. Testing the waters with Swamp Thing by having him appear, even if just a glorified cameo, in Constantine II makes alot of sense with me. I've always had a softspot for Swamp Thing, and seeing a CGI Swamp Thing up there on the silver screen doing his thing would absolutely pwn, IMO.

Good luck though on Warner Brothers getting their act together. I am so happy they decided to shelve Justice League Mortal. You know, I'm REALLY getting fucking tired of the young unknowns that DC/WB are soooooo crazy about when casting these films with the exception of Batman (which i feel is a small miracle to be perfectly honest). A good majority of people prefer their superheroes appearing mature in their age. They dont wanna see a 20 year old running around as Supes/Bats/Flash/GL/ or any other superheroes I can mention. I've heard the argument of "Oh, well I wouldnt see ________, I would just see that actor playing him!" Well, excuse me but I'll take that, and Marvel's line of thinking when it comes to casting, over the "HEY! Let's get a cookie cutter 20 year old unknown so we can build a franchise!!!" Yawn. Give me a great actor, with a good/decent resume over a young unknown with a limited acting resume any 'ol day of the fucking week. Donner struck gold with Reeve, but sad to say, lightning isnt going to strike every single time WB.
