That is why many think it is a "living document" able to change and be interepreted over time.

So if the majority of the people think slavery is all right 50 years from now and because it's a "living document" it's interpreted to mean something that allows it to reflect modern society and to occur then you won't have a problem with it?

Inalienable rights are just that. They become meaningless and nothing more than feel good fluff if people don't have them for all eternity and they can just change on a whim. Either they are sacred freedoms that are an integral part of life and the very fabric of reality or they don't exist. You can't have it both ways or fiddle around with them. If they can just morph and change then the rights that are inherent in all people don't exist at all.

What's priceless is the degree of irrational hatred some [including the dimwit who titled the above clip] harbor towards the President. Hatred enough to suspend reality while fantasizing he somehow outed himself, despite the fact he immediately clarified what he meant, i.e. "What I'm saying is that he (McCain) hasn't suggested that I'm a muslim."....a clarification that made complete sense within the context of the discussion. But then it's been amply proven that haters don't listen or read for context.

Hell, I'll do you one better - Enter public office in NC as an atheist claiming to be a Buddhist, get set up ya know ? e.g. your foot in the door etc etc., then, gravitate away from buddhism and establish yourself as an atheist.

Haters, Haters, Haters ! 3 times ! I think that it's time for you specify who and / or what it is your referencing. "Hate" has very strong connotations as you know, therefore, if you opt to incorporate this word into the context of your posts, please be prepped to inform the readers precisely who or what the hell it is you're referring to.

OK, now, what is it that they "hate" ? Is it a particular individual they "hate" or is it the ideology of an individual they "hate" which would make them "dissenting" as opposed to "hating"

So, does that mean that the Constitution has to change ? How can you be so sure that you'll get a better return on the new as opposed to the old ? What problems do you have with the Constitution out of curiosity ?
