Why save the world, when you can rule it?
I have no idea what A2A or A2G is but, if Britain, France, or Europe in general can't get its shit together, militarily, over a backyard neighbor like Libya; then the US needs to find some better allies.

Two thumbs way, way up. Not with just what I highlighted but the whole post. Somebody else needs to lead one of these fights, for a change.
I was talking of Britain's air to ground deficiency following their grounding of the Tornado and Harrier and the fact that their Apache (superior to the american Apache) costs £20,000 (mroe than $20,000) per hour to operate.
Britain can't strike ground targets from most of her fixed wing aircraft.

As for better allies, america does not deserve them and america has plenty of military problems of her own
Don't have too much faith in the Brits. One of our rescue teams just got sent back from Tokyo because the foreign office forgot to fill in the correct paperwork

Thank Allah for putting the pencil pushers in charge. You know that they gave the marines a ticking off for firing too many bullets?
The US has been bogged down in two costly wars for the better part of a decade. It would not be prudent for us to start a third one.

Nothing changes, Elizabeth I complained of excessive use of gunpowder during the Armada! Then refused to pay sailors for their services, most dying in the months after! Nighty, night ;)

The good old days of the Empire. Right up there with shooting kids as deserters in WW1 who for some reason didn't want to fight in a dirty trench where they faced being sent to run at a machine gun or get attacked by nerve gas. The ruling classes have a lot to answer for!

"Could this lead to war?"

couldn't really call what that would be a "war". it would be an Allied smashing of a tiny, ill prepared country at it's finest.

I don´t think so , cause about 30 min. ago that fucking camel-herder attacked Bengasi, ... yesterday the bastard accepted the UN-resolution, ..now he´s bombing .

I´m sure he´s got some very serious problems now... his problem. :D:angels::angels:

It is war. At least enforcing it is an act of war. (What would you call it if Libya imposed and enforced a no fly zone over some Western country?)

Not war yet, all talk at the moment. Libya can't impose a no fly zone, an international body like the UN can. If Gaddafi is massacring his own people something needs to be done, the west have made mistakes in the past but they should see this as a new start.

BREAKING NEWS: THE FRENCH HAVE ALREADY SURRENDERED TO THE LIBYAN ARMED FORCES

enforcing a no fly zone by the US in Libya is a violation of the US constitution and should not be done, the so called US leaders who have authorized this have just committed an act of treason according to the US Constitution, I don't know about everyone else but I really am starting to get sick of all these wars, lets bring all the troops home and close the majority of US military bases worldwide, how's that for a new start

Sorry to disagree, but the no fly zone was installed by the UN, not by the USA .

Hopefully the USA will stay in the background + the job is done by Europe . French + UK jets are almost in the air ..I just hear in German news that France already is attacking Gaddafi´s tanks + troops by mirage-jets.
