Total Nonstop Action wrestling thread

Kurt is right, Randy Orton is the best in the business!

As long as he stays away from the mic and cuts back on the stupid stares. We don't need to be told to "look into Randy's eyes" every time he's on tv.
It's creepy enough that he's practically naked and oiled up. I don't need to stare into his eyes that "tell a whole story, Cole".

^ I'm not sure how I feel about that. Glad that Gail Kim is returning to TNA, indifferent to the idea of her being heel, and annoyed that she'd align with Karen Jarrett, my least favorite person in TNA, with her horribly shrill voice and lion mask face.
I do look forward to a Gail Kim vs Mickie James match.

Hogan turns face and goes Red n Yellow again, helps Sting return he company back to Dixie Carter and she then give Sting GM powers??? Who writes this ****, I liked the James Storm part was pretty funny, but having Gail Kim ruin Velvets first promo as Champ was kinda messed up, I hope she get to keep the knockouts belt at least a month, it would be cool to see her Tara and Brooke team up

Backstage Concern Over James Storm's Title Reign

While many in the locker room are happy for James Storm capturing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, according to one wrestler, there is more faith in Bobby Roode as champion over "The Tennessee Cowboy."

Concern also lingers about Storm being "too Southern" to represent TNA.

Tennessee is in the South.

Jeff Jarrett has been champion many times. Where's the problem?

Should the race card be pulled out?

I would like to see a Southern Champion Belt in TNA, with a Rebel flag in the middle. :D

Storm, and Roode both, are fine for becoming champions. I agree with you about Jarrett - if he's champ, why not them? He isn't a big draw, never has been, never will.

Four Ex-WWE Talents Free To Join TNA Wrestling

Chris Masters, David Hart Smith, Melina and Vladimir Kozlov are now free to join TNA Wrestling since their respective ninety-day no-compete clauses with WWE expired Thursday. All four wrestlers were released on August 5, 2011.

The clause prohibits released talent from appearing for wrestling promotions with national television outlets for ninety days.

Masters caused fans to speculate he would be joining the Orlando based promotion with a Twitter message he posted two days following his departure. He wrote, "After a day of digesting,I must say WWE wasn't doing anything with me.So its probably best I go make my IMpact somewhere else."

Meanwhile, Melina was asked at last month's pre-launch party for Saints Row: The Third if she has plans to join TNA. The former WWE Women's Champion said she's "still deciding."

Devon Dudley Speaks On A Possible WWE Return

Devon appeared on Hit the Ropes with Shane Howard, Daris Brown and Demetrus Stokes. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

On his contract with TNA and possible return to WWE: "The contract is still valid up until August; this coming August of next year. The fans on Twitter, Facebook, and in general, in the streets and at the house shows, a lot of the fans wanting Bubba and myself to return to the WWE because of the history we have there and what we've done and accomplish. I guess with the state of how the WWE is going now where you see a lot guys from our era, the Attitude Era, starting to make their way back slowly but surely, and not to mention they've been wanting that for a while, in terms of tag teams.... Could there be a chance we could be back in the WWE? Absolutely. Could there be a chance we stay in TNA? Absolutely."

On those who say he may be past his prime: "I look at it this way, the only people I've heard this from are the people who sit behind computers and can be able to say what should and should not be in professional wrestling and try to call the shots. If that's the case, they would be some type of writers; some type of personality within the company. As far as I'm concerned, the matches I've been having in the singles I've been loving it, the fans have been loving it....

"Those people that are on the Internet writing what their writing, it doesn't bother me. What would bother me would be the people in the arenas. And that's what I go by.... If I lost a step, if I was grossly overweight, I can see them having a valid point. But when I'm in the ring with AJ, Samoa Joe, and Hernandez, and so forth and so on, and tearing the house down, it's hard for me to want to be able to listen to those people who are behind the keyboards who are writing this and actually believe what they are saying...."

Winter Speaks Out – WWE vs. TNA & Vince/Dixie

When Gail Kim left WWE she criticized the organization for their lack of faith in women’s wrestling. Sports Vibe asks Winter if she shares the same sentiment.

“I wouldn’t say that the standard of female wrestling in WWE isn’t as good as in TNA, but I would agree that there is less opportunity for the girls in the WWE to showcase what they can do. Every now and again WWE would have a great story line with a woman or a great pay-per-view match and then other times you watch Raw and if you blink you miss the girls wrestling,” she says.

“In TNA there is a lot more opportunity for the girls to showcase what they can do and there are a lot more story lines for the Knockouts division—a lot of the time on Impact there are two girls matches.”

Winter also compared the two bosses she’s worked for, Vince McMahon and Dixie Carter.

“I really haven’t had much contact with Vince McMahon apart from a couple of meetings about story lines and character ideas, I wouldn’t really say I got to know him has a person,” she says. “Dixie is very approachable, she is always around and is super friendly, she has a lot more a a personal relationship with all of the wrestlers.”

Since joining TNA last year, Winter has held the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship as well as the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship. She is asked if she should have been given the opportunity to win gold in WWE.

“I think it was possible for me to have the opportunity but I didn’t for whatever reason. I could blame them and say they didn’t give me the opportunity or I can maybe it’s something I didn’t do, its just something I’ll never know. I did have a title shot once in the WWE against Mickie James and that was amazing, I would have liked to have got more opportunities,” she says.

Heading into 2012, Winter reveals her New Year’s resolutions.

She says, “Just to kick it up another notch, I would like to be involved in more really strong story lines, have some really good PPV matches and hopefully get my titles back!”

Winter also discusses TNA’s partnership with Ohio Valley Wrestling, the wrestlers who inspired her when she was growing up, her WWE debut and more. The full interview is available at Premium Link Upgrade

Gail Kim: WWE Environment Was Disrepectful To Women.

In an interview with Schemamaga.ca, Gail Kim said the following when asked about her WWE departure and if it had to do with not getting enough matches or major story lines:

“I’ve talked about this many times up to this point, which I don’t mind but I think the fans and myself have moved on from this topic. To clarify, that was not the reason why, there were many reasons why including some disrespectful situations and the way women were treated; so I decided to move on. I did, and I’m happier than ever and I will never know reasons why so I choose not to worry about that anymore. I can only look forward and try to do positive things from now on. Impact Wrestling has been home for me and it’s just been a confidence building, pro female wrestling environment. I feel like I don’t have to limit myself anymore.”
