The Latest Steve Austin-WWE-TNA Update Inside

WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is scheduled to make a guest appearance on the hunting television program Drop Zone TV sometime next year. The program debuts Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. ET on the Outdoor Channel. A press release was issued with the following noted: "This season, former WWE World Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin, will be in pursuit of his biggest whitetail ever, while comedian Killer Beaz adds his unique brand of comedy by making side-splitting commentary throughout many episodes of the show."

As far as WWE is concerned, Austin is under what has been described as a "high money" contract to the company with no particular role attached. WWE feels even if they pay Austin to simply sit at home and collect royalties off of merchandise, it is worth the investment. However, more importantly, the contract prevents Austin from jumping to a competitor, notably, USA Network competitor Spike TV. That obviously means Austin would not be able to go to TNA Wrestling.

Backstage Update On 2 TNA Knockouts Real-Life Beef

Velvet Sky and April Hunter have apparently made amends after working Monday's iMPACT! taping in Orlando together. The TNA Knockout posted a candid photo of herself with Hunter backstage at the show with a caption reading "Truce!!!! :)"

Click HERE to see the image of the two looking super hot backstage at the iMPACT! taping on Monday.

Before joining TNA, Sky, whose real name is Jamie Szantyr, formed a tag team with Hunter known as T&A — which was apparently a spoof on "Divas." The group gained notoriety and worked a number of independent shows together over the course of 2005 and 2006.

However, in late 2006, the two best friends had a really ugly split that eventually spilled over online with both women's wrestlers personally attacking each other through various blog posts. Apparently, the two had not spoken to each other since their break-up.

Hulk Hogan Says He'll Be The "Vince Of TNA," Tons More
by Matt Boone
Dec 29, 2009

The following is an excerpt from a recent interview with Hulk Hogan from AOL Fanhouse:

"MMA is spanking the WWE as far as the pay-per-view stuff," Hogan told FanHouse on Tuesday. "Dana White and the UFC has done an amazing job, and it's all about timing. The UFC was ready to close its doors, they were losing a ton of money, they were going under, they were getting ready to go out of business, and then they did a reality show called, The Ultimate Fighter. They developed the characters; they made people care about the fighters; the people found out who the fighters were; they breathed life into the fighters. That's what I want to do with TNA. They've got the best talent in the world down there, but no one is breathing life into the characters."

Not only will Hogan be appearing on TNA television in a role he describes as, "the Vince McMahon of TNA," he also said that he will be running the show creatively behind-the-scenes. It is there that the 56-year-old will look to emulate what the UFC has been able to accomplish over the past decade.

Report: Dreamer Telling Friends He's Headed To TNA

Tommy Dreamer is said to be the source of the rumors indicating he's headed to TNA once he's free from World Wrestling Entertainment as those close to him are saying he has been telling them he's Orlando bound. While those within TNA have yet to confirm his claim, it's been made to clear to him that he has a job open for him if he wanted to become an agent.

While specifics of Dreamer's contract are unclear, it's unlikely WWE would release him in order to allow him to join TNA as a wrestler. Even if he was given a full release without a no wrestling in TNA stipulation, he'd likely have a 90-day non-compete.

Meanwhile, it appears Dreamer's farewell show on ECW will be taking place tonight at the Izod Center in New Jersey as he confirmed in a post on WWE's social networking site that he was bringing his gear to work the final ECW show of the decade.

EXCLUSIVE: Scott Hall/Sean Waltman To TNA, Flair Update,More
by Chris Cash
Dec 31, 2009

As Jan. 4 approaches, a source told WrestleZone.com that TNA has reached an agreement with Scott Hall and Sean Waltman to work on a “pay as you play” basis. No long-term contracts will be signed; Hall and Waltman will be employed as long as their performance and off-screen behavior warrants. TNA reportedly sees Hall and Waltman as short-term hires even in the best of scenarios.

TNA is also pushing hard to sign Jeff Hardy and Ric Flair before Jan. 4. Hardy, of course, is still dealing with legal matters stemming from his September drug bust. Flair, meanwhile, would be involved in a three-way “icons” program with Hulk Hogan and Sting if he signs with TNA. The actual ring time of all three would be very limited.

Most of the contracts of TNA’s incoming big names, such as Hogan and Flair, will reportedly be guaranteed by Panda Energy.

So instead of getting more new guys it's lets continue to turn this into WCW part II.

EXCLUSIVE: Rob Van Dam To TNA Wrestling?

For those of you who listen to WZR Radio on a weekly basis, you know that we have heard rumors that Rob Van Dam and TNA have reached a deal. According to our source, the deal was reached and signed several weeks ago around TNA's Final Resolution PPV. We never reported this here on the site until we could get further confirmation. Unfortunately, we still have been unable to get this confirmed by anyone within TNA. We're not sure if they're trying to keep it a major secret or just simply do not know as they claim. We just thought I'd throw it out there though.
