WOOOO! Ric Flair!

After that this was disappointing. Way too many commercials and not enough wrestling, going to commercials during matches, and so on. Hogan was supposed to make things better?

About 9:10 pm in the ring, it looked like Monday Night Nitro.

AJ did beat Angle that was great. TNA could have done so much more than they did.

Things I didn't like.

Angelina Love and RVD were supposed to show up.

Going to commercials during matches has to stop!

Val Venis sitting with the Beautiful People.

ODB beating Tara for the belt. Already?

Awesome Kong & Hamada win the Tag Team belts.

Raven & Dr. Stevie vs. Matt Morgan & Hernandez quick victory

Somoa Joe vs Abyss

Bubba the Love Sponge Don West is better.

Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan.

TNA iMPACT! Results (1/4)

Hogan said if you can't talk or wrestle you might as well pack your bags... Really!?

Hogan said this? He's an over-blown gimmick with no skills. :crash:

I found that out when I was younger and found WCW and Ric Flair.

:scream: WOOOOO!

TNA = WCW circa 1996
i guess Vince will eventually buy TNA and the Roster.
i cant wait for the book and dvd "the rise and fall of TNA"
who is gonna watch this crap? Hogan came out to the NWO MUSIC!!!
a new beginning??? its just repeating history over and over and over and over again!

...and the interviews with the fans outside before the show with them calling "wwe kiddie shows" and "wwe sucks tna rules" were so bad and so forced it wasnt even believable

I watched TNA last night and was very dissapointed.
Steel Asylum match was a stupid finish, then Homicide not being able to escape the cage, then Hardy comes down and hits him.
Knockout Title match was to short and made no sense to do such a quick title change
Why was Flair there? - He did nothing
Beutiful People are hot and it was a decent sgment with Venis but didn't further the show.
Morgan/Hernandez victory was far to short.
Natys Boyz and Hall/Waltman didn't look in good condition
We have all seen Sting in the rafters before and it has been done to death.

The Pope/Desmond match was good although a bit short.
Angle/Styles was a great match.

I think the consenus is that Styles/Angle was a great match and everthing else is just rehased WCW stories from 1998.

I thought impact was great and by far the better of the two shows. The most fun i had in ages watching wrestling. so glad Hamada and Kong got tag belts!!!!!!

I misses that cause I was watching Bret and Michaels on Raw. I'm pissed; I love Hamada.

How you thought TNA had a better show is crazy talk by my standards...unless you like the old wcw shows from the 90's.
Master Gio i have to say that everything about TNA = WCW from the terrible opening fireworks which have not changed since WCWnitro,to the terrible "arenas" which the shows broadcast from (what do they hold 900 people), leaving matches in the middle of the action ...(yes WWE does it also but TNA does it a few times a show!!) and never giving hyped matches an ending.
NOT TO MENTION bringing back every WCW character from the 90's!
JUMBO jim you are correct how can you open a show, hype a new "beginning" :1orglaugh and then have your opening steel asylum match be a No-contest. that is just terrible booking and planning from the top to the bottom. good thing i can just read here what happens on WCW on Spike
Jumbo Jim its your job to fill me in every week as to what happens on WCW and tell me if i need to watch

The Nasty Boys were probably the lowlight of that entire show for me. Ever since I read Eddie Guerrero's book, I have had no respect for either of them. I could do with Hall on the show, because he was a major star back in the day, but the Nasty Boys have never been good wrestlers. Not to mention that they are nothing but a bunch of old guys now. The only thing nasty about them is their colostomy bags.

Big Update on Jeff Hardy's Contract Status With TNA
by Nick Paglino
Jan 05, 2010

Despite his ongoing legal isssues, PWInsider.com is reporting that Jeff Hardy has indeed signed a deal with TNA. We don't know at this time how long the deal is good for, but we do know that last night's appearance on Impact was not a one time thing for Hardy. He did in fact sign some type of deal which will see him appear on the show regularly.

It's being said that the main reason why Hardy decided to work for TNA instead of making a return to WWE is that he has simply grown tired of the grueling WWE work and travel schedule. Working for TNA will allow Hardy to still maintain his status as a top star, make great money, spend time on other projects that he wants to work on, and not have to travel and work as many dates.

Vince McMahon has got to be pissed about that. After the big push Hardy had and now he's in TNA.

Jeff Hardy Screws Over WWE

Jeff Hardy had a verbal agreement to return to WWE, so him jumping to TNA last night surprised many within WWE. Vince McMahon was no-selling it today.

Hardy has apparently signed a short-term deal with TNA.

The Real Reason Jeff Hardy Signed With TNA Wrestling

After a shocking appearance by Jeff Hardy at Monday's TNA iMPACT! tapings, TNAWrestlingNews.com has confirmed that the former WWE Champion has signed a contract with TNA Wrestling. Here are some of the key details to this story:

- Jeff Hardy is now a full-time member of the TNA roster and will be working a regular television and PPV schedule.

- The main reason Jeff Hardy jumped to TNA is the work schedule and is at the point where he doesn't want to deal with the grueling WWE travel schedule. In TNA, he can still remain a top star in the industry and make great money while working and traveling far less.

-- On iMPACT!, we saw Jeff Hardy attack X-Division star Homicide. A feud between the two appears to be in the works. "Anything could change and I could do something else or Jeff could do something else at the TV tapings on Tuesday, and I think it would be a great match-up of Jeff Hardy vs. Homicide. I'm really hoping it will happen," Homicide said on the "Right After Wrestling" radio program on SIRIUS channel 98.

-- Jeff Hardy was in meetings with Hulk Hogan and Dixie Carter throughout the day on Monday ironing out the terms of his agreement. Its believed that nothing was locked up until Jeff's visit to Orlando on Monday.

-- Hardy's drug charges from September 11 are still pending. He will be back in court on January 27 for probable cause hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to take Hardy's case to the next level.

Another Major iMPACT! **SPOILER** - 4-Sided Ring?

There is a rumor going around that the company will run an angle tonight, where the 6-sided ring is destroyed, and then will be replaced by the traditional 4-sided ring.

TNAWrestlingNews.com exclusively noted several weeks ago that TNA was planning to use a 4-sided ring in the near future.

We'll have spoilers later tonight but we'd expect the angle to take place at the end of the show.

When it happened, Hardy appearing on iMPACT seemed like a huge aquisition, and in a way it is. But depending on the turnout of the court case, this could be a disaster for both TNA and Hardy.

so even though 3D aint in their prime anymore they are going to have to carry the nasty boys every match night in and night out?
way to burn out a team WCW:thumbsup:

you cant fault the guy for wanting to work less, and in this business i think there has been more Verbal agreements broken than there has been world champions!
i would like to work less days also should i ask my boss if i can work a 3 day week?

That i agree w/ you. hardy is their biggest acquisition and if he goes to jail it is a loss for both. Hardy is a dumbass for all ths drug shit!

I love the fact that he dissed the WWE and jumped to TNA. i want more WWE guys to do this!

EXCLUSIVE: Even More Details On Ric Flair's TNA Deal
by Nick Paglino
Jan 06, 2010

The Wrestling Observer reported earlier today that Ric Flair has signed a 65 date deal with TNA which will see him work those dates over the course of a year.

I spoke to a source today who has provided me with more details concerning Flair's current TNA deal. Apparently, Flair had been holding out on signing a deal with TNA as he was unsure about the contract he was receiving and wanted a deal directly with Panda Energy. However, in an effort to get Flair on Impact this past Monday night, TNA offered him a much higher amount of money than he had expected, which made the deal something Flair could not refuse.

Additionally, it's being said that TNA is very high on Flair at the moment because they see him as someone who could potentially boost the company's popularity in various international markets. TNA wants to use him as an ambassador of sorts, and as someone who can represent the company internationally to ultimately help make it appear more major league.

Some feel, however, that Flair's heart is not really in TNA, and that he is simply taking the big pay day without much interest in where the company actually goes.

It should also be noted that in addition to using Flair as an "ambassador," TNA still plans to use him as an on-air character and as a sporadic wrestler.
