Total Nonstop Action wrestling thread

So don't take it the wrong way, but I have to ask. Is there anything about TNA that you DO like? I mean, for someone who seems to hate it so much, you sure come by this thread often. So, unless you're just a douchebag, there must be something.

Actually, yeah, I enjoy TNA very much. It's more compelling that WWE, who focus way too much on the main event most of the time -- and they still half-ass feuds and storylines. I've yet to see Randy Orton in a program as champion other than "oh, you have the title I want, so I'mma face you at (insert PPV name) and win it". But this is about TNA, and the only things I don't like are:

- how the X-Division title became a regular mid-card title and not what it used to be.

- the Knockouts division focus a lot on The Beautiful People. Well, they used to heavily, but not as much anymore. =D

- The Pope. I just don't see what's so appealing. When I thought he was a heel by siding with Nash and Sting before BFG I found him tolerable.

Blah blah blah, blah blah blah. /post

You don't like the Beautiful People??? What R U gay? + Pope's not a bad wrestler he just needs a lil more experience, he's not bad on the mic either

i loved tna before hogan and bishoff joined tna...going back to the 4 sided ring...and these young stars getting pushed back...have u seen their amazing matches? like sick, MCM, angle, AJ, joe, jay lethal...the list goes on and on...their were having amazing sick off the hook matches...i just think their going in the wrong direction, that's all...we the fans deserve a better product

watching tna tonight and why the hell is ric flair still wrestling? like seriously...im glad raven is gone...that match lasted like 5 mins...the best match of the night...THE KNOCKOUTS! wow, like really? rvd should be feuding for the title...shrugs*

I agree about the MCMG vs Gen Me fight on Reaction being really cool,
and the earlier match that included MCMG/Jay Lethal/Velvet Sky vs Gen Me/Jersey.

God, Velvet Sky always looks fucking amazing. I almost fell off the couch watching her entrance...as I normally do. ;)
...and I also yell at the tv, at Tazz and his constant "Let the pigeons loose!" line. What does that even mean?

(Isn't youtube great sometimes?)

jump forward to 4:30

That stuff was great. Aside that though, I guess my ADD set in, which the Hogan/Bishoff regime is not helping. (yes, more whining and complaining)

I love it when he says "Let the pigeons loose!". Makes me laugh every time.

^ Yeah. Most people seem to love what I hate. That's how it works. That's how the world is at me. The more irritating something is to me, the more everyone else just loves it. I've come to expect it.

I actually felt the same way, back when Jerry Lawler would always yell out "Puppies!". Every week. As a dog hater, I don't like women's tits (something I love) referenced in such a disgusting way.

Impact was so exciting tonight that I was browsing YouTube, at some classic ECW moments.

i went to just about every ECW house show with my cousin. we were DIE HARD ECdubya fans and if you watch the spike getting thrown into crowd at 4:39 the guy wearing a dark blue baseball cap is ME!! that was the first time Bam Bam threw spike into the crowd @ ECW arena, i think it happened a week or 2 before at a PPV or at another place (nyc? queens?)
but Bam bam pretty much threw him right at me and my cousin!:nanner:

ECW will never be properlly 'used'. That is, unless they somehow manage to get their own company up and running again.

NOT! just let it die and remember the good times. or just have a cousin who has every show (ecw tv,ppv and house show) all recorded on either vhs  or he is moving them to DVD/CD but it takes a while

^ Kinda hard to let such a thing die, especially when there is nothing around today that comes close to it. So NO! I won't ever let it die! FUCK THAT!

And I don't have a cousin at my disposal...:(
As a matter of fact, I'm the only one in my family (or life, for that matter) who watches wrestling.

well you dont have to let it die,but you have to realize it will never be the ECW we grew up or watched. those guys wont be able to do it again even if tomorrow the company got re-started. those were the days when i could dream and see guys leave here and there for WWF/WCW because of money issues with ECW (bounced checks) and i would say if i ever won a big lottery like 100million i would have either bought ECW or just backed them up with the necessary funds to keep the show going!
well since ECW is no more i guessi disnt win that lottery! :(

Don't misunderstand though. ECW era is over and done. I just want there to be something like it to come back, even if it's a different name. And I don't mean using those same guys. I mean newer, younger guys. It is the "Jackass" generation after all. ;)

I agree with this. I wish they were another company that was similar to what ECW was back in the day
