Top Mexican Officials Say Legalize Marijuana to Hurt Cartels

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I'm certainly for decriminalizing pot. I don't know about legalizing and attempting to control it. And I'm not sure what that will or won't do with regard to violent crime or turf battles. I don't smoke it, but I'm generally in favor of letting people do what they choose to do with their own bodies. They just have to accept responsibility for their actions, while they're under the influence of whatever it is that they've willingly put in their bodies. Whether its the moral argument or the health argument, I really don't see the difference between pot and alcohol. Is there really a difference? :dunno: From everything I've read, it was primarily that wingnut movie, Reefer Madness, that sent us down the path to idiocy and overreaction.

Weed, you can grow... most anybody can grow it. Coke, heroin and meth... that's a lot more complicated. I don't think there are any easy answers there. But just like the Boobinator character that was asking for advice on taking LSD, once someone realizes there is a risk (whatever the degree), what happens happens, IMO. If it works out, fine. If it doesn't, I guess it sucks to be them. I'm not in favor of being a nanny for risk takers.

The one thing about this that puzzles me is the position of the Mexican (quasi) government. They blame us for the demand side of the drug problem. But then, they also blame us for the supply side of the firearms problem. And yet, it's only very recently that they figured out that if you track and monitor large bank deposits, you might just figure out who is selling massive quantities of drugs. And they only searched cars coming into the U.S., not the ones returning to Mexico? Who develops law enforcement techniques and policies down there, Barney Fife?

There once was an hombre called Fife
Who carried a pistola and a knife
The pistola was all dusty
And his knife was all rusty
Because he never caught a Zeta in his life

the war on drugs is a tough one.

Man, guys, it technically is legal right now. I've been let go with small amounts before at least a couple times. One time my buddy and I just smoked a nice joint and I got pulled over. The cop just gave me a warning. :glugglug: There was another time when they made me throw my oney in the sewer. Yeah, I've met some pretty cool cops in my day (or maybe they just didn't want to fill out the paper work :D)

That sounds about right, have you ever seen the movie Traffic?

this won´t happen because the same political men are into the drugs bussiness

that's the whole irony about the war on drugs when you have self-righteous moral hypocritical politicians talking about being tough against crime and drugs not becoz these vices are immoral and detrimental...but becoz they want to get elected into office so they can stand to financially profit at taxpayers expense by criminalizing drugs and drug users

I was thinking Wind Corrected Munitions Dispensers and JDAMs, but meh....

I guess legalizing weed would work, too...

Nothing you have ever posted has been too complex or silly enough to confuse anyone but you or Hellraisin...I suppose you really feel like his high-five is a great compliment...!
Trust me...you are so obvious and it's been said before-ish...nothing you come up with is deep or very relevant, but if you need the reassurance of the site clown to feel good, I am happy for you.

'Well, considering your government is scared of Canada legalizing marijuana because it would turn places like Vancouver and Windsor into popular places for your teenagers, then yes, keep your opinions to yourself. No need for them here.'

Huh?:rofl2:
Scared?
Yeah, the US and the DEA is terrified of stupid druggies flocking to the cameras and undercover agents placed in druggie centers there so we can bust them hand over fist in the US and at the border...Canada would fill their legal system with rich lawyers from all the smuggling convictions, etc...you are a silly person and need to do a reality check once you discover you aren't the crown of intellectual creation!:rofl2:
The only thing "scared" here is you, of my clear refutation of the foolish, lame attempts at insulting the American giant you obviously have fear feelings about. Bad dreams as well?
Maybe once you get over yourself You Might make use of the wiser minds here and online to research the massive efforts worldwide to dry up drug sources for terror orgs and criminal cartels the Western powers are currently engaged in, death and destruction on a large scale; no government is going to overnight undermine the huge effort by just la-de-da legalizing ANY drug use in the US of A. Medical use is a small foot in the door, years later maybe some progress, not anytime soon.
If Canada did so, there would be huge financial penalties immediately, way more than any tax revenue from reefer sales.
Good God, child...grow up.
At what point in typing your diatribes do you finally say "yup, that's enough desperation?"

also: smoke weed every day

We can see what it's done for you...

Quick, shut down your pc...your Mom's coming!!!

I agree, legalize marijuana, tax it, pay off the debt, and put all of these pot dealing thugs out of business. It's win, win, win. People are going to smoke it anyway...
