This thread has no purpose.

I've tried to hold off indefinitely from saying something, but I want to write out my thoughts and see if anybody agrees with me or if I am just completely in the wrong.

Anyways, the point: Why do people around here routinely ask a question along the lines of, "What's the point of this thread" or "What's the point of this question?" For most threads the point is just to be a lighthearted topic of conversation, in other words, it's just for fun.

Why chide someone for starting a topic you don't care for or see the use in? If you don't like, care for, or are indifferent about a topic, fine, but if other people are enjoying and it and having fun discussing it, let them.

So a thread doesn't serve a practical purpose, so what? If a thread has to have some measure of practicality to be accepted then we might as well shut down not only the whole message boards but also the whole internet, no... the whole world. Because, being somewhat of a Nihilist I don't think their is any point to anything.

So those are my thoughts on that topic. I hope you either enjoy them or **** them, just don't ask me why I felt the need to post them
