Ive seen most of the shows that revolve around these girls and their lifestyle only because it comes close to equally shows about the morbidly obese in regards to pissing in pants comedy.
The gypsy community shouts about how proud they are as a community, upholding moral values etc etc, but then you actually get a look at their culture through these fly on the wall sites and realise they have neither. What you do understand is their value system is completely fucked up.
Example, look at their women. They have no substance, no drive, no fucking personal pride. They are content to be "grabbed" like cavemen clubbing girls in some mating ritual not far being barbaric and brainwashed into believing their place is in the home to raise babies and scrub while they big intelligent thug of a man she married (At 16) goes out to make money "however he can".
In one episode one "traveller" girl gives up the lifestyle of a caravan moves into a house (Despite being a hypocrite earlier saying she never would) and the first thing planned is a the 50" plasma TV going on the wall. I work, I have a good life for all intents but the last thing I need or want is a TV plastered onto my living room - My possessions do not define me as a person. It seems that that the whole culture revolves around the principle of "Validate through possessions".
Fast cars, bling, fake tan and expensive things in the home seems all they care about, as if it covers up their own shortcomings and backward thinking of the way they live. They are forced to move around because no one wants them in their town. Why? Actions speak louder than words and they compose themselves not much better than street trash, but they have a Porsche and Plasma TV, in their minds that makes everything alright because it means they are better than everyone else!
I genuinely feel sorry for the girls, they have no lives of their own. They will clean, scrub and be a prisoner in their homes, smiling all the while the burdens they have been trained to believe are theirs means the world passes them by. Girls who want to stay in school are ridiculed for it, Gays are outcasts - as if the man hunting hedgehogs for dinner (no joke) and living in a caravan in someone elses back yard has right to judge.
The gypsy way of life is old fashioned and hopefully dying a quick death. They aren't liked, they are hypocrites and frankly anyone who thinks the proudest moment of their young life is to dress up like a fucking pineapple needs a reality check.
