He made a remark about the Klan and ********* yeas ago that was a joke and some black lawyer said he called him "boy" which was never proven.
If I recall correctly, the senate moved swiftly to confirm Obama's appointments 8 years ago without incident. Eric Holder could have been held up with his questionable decisions as deputy AG but in the interest of unity pushed him through.
The left won't be so kind. They won't be happy until they take the scalps of a couple of Trump's appointees. Look for the Sessions confirmation to get ugly.
I still thinks he makes it through and will be a solid AG. Hillary should start worrying.

I live close to SC and visit often.
She would not be reelected if she had to run again. They have been propping her up as a national candidate for a while now just because she is a minority and a woman.
She can't run for senate because,South Carolina already has 2 republican Senators. They are dying for Trump to appoint her to something to pad her résumé and to raise her profile.
She trashed Trump and his supporters with the "we can't heed to the siren call of the angriest voices" remark when giving the Republican response to the State Of The Union address.

Agreed. Mitt Romney once said that Russia was the greatest geopolitical threat to the U.S. Not Al Qaeda, Russia. The 1980's, they're now calling to ask for their foreign policy back, because you know, the Cold War has been over for 20 years.
