That was a really fucking good article.
If they cared about populism, or crushing Goldman Sachs, or building The Wall, these people would have been up in arms. But what they really cared about was that Trump was willing to stand up for the Very Fine People who marched in Charlottesville and tell the uppity congresswomen to go back to where they came from.
He mounted a hostile takeover of the GOP because he alone understood what Republican voters wanted. They wanted the spirit that had animated his birtherism gambit: a politics devoted not to policies and ideologies, but to grievances and combativeness.

The United States is awash in firearms. Around 395 million, about 46% of the world's civilian held firearms. Whether or not it's what the Founders intended, it's what we have. Relatively equal footing with ones minders, excepting heavy arms. And that's what makes for such a short headline. You can be assured that the US military will never conduct street-to-street actions against its population (as if, so Euro!). Rather, they will cordon off the affected area, irrespective of its size (looking at you, Seattle) and wait it out. Because inside that cordon is a Hell of a lot of legally owned guns and ammunition. And everyone in there looks American, see? Sweet American liberty. And that's just one of them!

Ok, some good news. Even though trump has decided to Premium Link Upgrade treaty and immediately start liquidating the assets in yet another massive betrayal of long standing US allies, it appears that the Premium Link Upgrade start getting rid of the assets so that a real president will have a path to return to the agreement - Despite reports the Trump administration might be scrambling to get rid of the OC-135B planes, a congressional source said the Air ***** plans to keep the planes until the end of fiscal 2021 and service leaders had yet to make a firm decision about what to do with them.
It's a shame the US doesn't have a congress, only whatever you'd call that corrupt shitshow mcconnell is running, or they might step in and stop him from burning down the entire house on his way out, but at least the military are working against him to try to salvage what they can. Hopefully if and when he calls on them to ****** Iran they'll either tell him to fuck off or arrest him and put him in a cell until January 20.
