Sorry but F1 just gets too boring. Barely any overtaking anymore. Rather watch Nascar..maybe Nascar without JJ would be entertaining since he overly dominates. But the races are still pretty exciting.

That is why it is so much better in the wet. They loose the downforce and make overtaking more of a possibility.
There was talk of reducing downforce by 50% at the end of last season, but this did not happen. Maybe next year.

You obviously got your crystal ball out Petra. It was wet and it was a pretty good race.

They're predicting that Maylasia is going to be wet as well. Fingers crossed. :D I'll have to wait until Monday to see the race though.

Hope it is wet, just not too wet though. Australia was just wet enough to make it interesting, without it being impossible to drive. Moist is what we are looking for :)

Here are two recent articles on Michael Schumacher from the English media. I'm wondering what the German media and race fans make of Michael's return? The views of FreeOnes German race fans would be interesting. :2 cents:

I watch NASCAR Sprint Cup sometimes too. But I can generally watch the last 15-30 minutes of a race and that's when all the action takes place. Except for the "big one" at certain tracks, they spend too much time manufacturing yellows, making sure that no one gets too far in front. I watched parts of Martinsville and Bristol. Knocking someone out of the way is just a different animal to F1... unless you're Mark Webber, that is. But I agree that overtaking is too hard... mainly because the FIA went back on the point of having the single diffuser. Notice how the GP2 cars don't have the same overtaking issues, and they're basically built to the scale of an F1 car. The FIA just screwed up the aero regs (again! :crash:).

Hey ed007,

here is my take on Schumacher, from a previous post from first page of this topic

Second, the comeback of Michael Schumacher. I am a German, but i despise him. But you got to give him credit for the balls he got. He can really loose a lot in this season, being the legend and maybe getting his ass whipped by the young guns ^^

The fever in germany is really way up again, but the RTL tv channel hypes the fact there are quite a bit of german drivers into the formula 1 circuit this season.

Which makes me uncomfortable. I am not into liking specific drivers because we happen to share the same native country.

I like Lewis Hamilton, his way of racing and the whole family of his, very likable people. I believe he will be doing a lot better in races to come.

The qualifying is really wet now. I like it that Hamilton is out.
And its also nice for the race that Ferrari out in the first session.

It's going to be a very interesting race tomorrow. If it rains, Hamilton stands a chance. If Webber's car keeps going it could well be a win for him.

Mixed up grid - love it.

Well, that was certainly an interesting qualifying session! It's odd that Ferrari and McLaren often forget that there are other teams out there competing besides themselves. Hamilton, fastest ALL weekend... and in 20th place. All because Whitmarsh doesn't keep his eye on the big picture (always has to chase Ferrari, even if they're driving over a cliff).

But at least it'll be fun to see the fast guys charging up through the field. For any of you that claim that F1 doesn't have any passing, I encourage you to watch the race tomorrow. There will be passing, lads & lassies. :glugglug:

I'm no fan of that Whitmarsh.
I say get rid of him and put Miss Hybrid in charge. She's more than smart enough and I'm sure Miss H's whip and fizz will ensure those McLaren boyz regain the world championship. :glugglug:

I'm serious. I think she'd do a better job than Whitmarsh. :2 cents:

Nah, she'd be too distracting. No one at Mclaren would ever get anything done. :)

Say, what the hell was thta with Schumacher almost loosing a wheel after his teammate had that in the previous race? Are they that desperate at Mercedes GP that they squeeze the mechanics to working faster that they fuck up their own reliability?

Today was a fun race, and it seems Vettel and hie teammate have a massive chance to build their stash of points while the big teams are stumbling over their own wheels ^^

Too bad Hamilton was put back into the 20th slot at the starting grid, he would have given Vettel a good fight.

I can't be unhappy with this race. My guy, Hamilton, didn't win. But Vettel certainly deserved a break. And I would have been pissed to see Webber win after what he did in the last race. Still, a great drive by Hamilton up through the field. I wonder if he wasn't as hard on Sutil because they're pals (compared to how he destroyed Petrov). I really think he would have pressed the issue had it been anyone else. And even though I'd never cared for Massa in years past, considering what he went through last year, I was rather happy to see him get a decent result. And even though he did a great job, racing hard, while nursing a dying car... I nearly got a woodie when Fernandita's Ferrari began smoking like a freight train. I can't stand that guy... talented though he is.

Of the newer tracks, Malaysia is one of my favorites. It typically produces some good racing. And today was certainly a good one.

BTW, everytime I see Vettel now, I think of this:

I'd give anything if he'd sing "Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees" or "I'm a Believer" during a press conference. That kid is certainly loaded with talent. And seemingly, a nice lad too.

You just might be right about that. :)

Today's race was not as action packed as last weekend but it was still interesting to watch. I pretty much agree with what those guys posted: Supadupafly + Namreg + Rey C. :hatsoff:

You guys have mentioned her a couple of times, so is Miss Hybrid an F1 fan? I know she's English, so at least we have a shot of her being interested. Gisele (Got Gisele) is a gearhead girl, but I don't think she's much into racing. We need a feminine view of F1 too! And yeah, I'm not leaving Petra out. It's just that it would be nice to have more of the ladies participating in this thread too.

What I really LOVE about Vettel is - he is open about having a dirty mind.

First: He said in an interview the person he wants to meet is Jenna Jameson for dinner. That really made me go, hell, yeah you got the right mind there :glugglug:

And the car he drives these days he named: „Kate’s dirty sister“

I bet he has an account on FreeOnes, too.

Come on, Sebastian, we support you, become the first OCSM that is an actual Formula 1 driver and hell, get that FreeOnes tag on your car :nanner:

I really appreciate when I come up with a cheeky idea and folks roll with it in a positive way. Cheers mate. :glugglug:
To be honest I have no idea if Miss H is a fan but I will ask her. Fingers crossed. :angels:

I agree it would be great to have a few "confirmed" ladies contributing to this thread.

That's a really good idea. Thanks Supadupafly. :glugglug:
I'm a big Vettel fan too. I was praying he or anybody but Button would win last season. Button is a good driver but in my opinion he is very boring. Yes it's nice to see British drivers doing well but entertainment always takes priority over patriotism in my book. :2 cents:

I have no reason to doubt what you have said about Vettel so I think it has got to be worth Petra (a fellow F1 fan) making a few phone calls to see if it's possible to get Vettel @ FreeOnes. It sounds like there's a good chance he would be very interested. :dunno:
As we say in England: "He who dares wins."
