If only the offense was as good as the defense.

Hey, no interceptions, no fumbles, pretty good running game...

For the Bears, that's IMMACULATE!!!

Seriously though, I'm pleased with the offense. We're not doing anything amazing, but we're not doing anything stupid either. Plus, Forte is looking good.

I'll admit they did perform better than I expected. Not having TrainRex in there probably helps by default, and maybe if we're lucky Orton will be mediocre. Then again this is still only the first game, and I'm not placing too much emphasis on it. They can't expect to win a lot of games by a 10 to 3 score, or hoping their defense scores almost as much as the offense.

Peyton Manning and the Colts looked horrible last night.

Peyton really looked like he was lost out on the field.

The greatest stud in American Professional Sports is lost for the season...:weeping: Suddenly, the entire NFL season got a whole lot less interesting...

What does everyone think about the Pats without Tom Brady...I'll tell you... They just are horribly average without him. Randy Moss can't be the heart/soul of that team. I wonder how long it will be before he quits playing hard for the team. One week? 2 weeks? He's a QB snob and I really don't think Matt Cassell or anyone on the Pats roster interests him much.

I wanted to go ahead and crown the Chargers as the NFL's best but..c'mon dudes...what the fuck was that yesterday? ANOTHER LOSS?

Dallas looks pretty good. I think my team for this season (yes, I'm going to officially leap aboard their bandwagon)..."Oh when the SAINTS! GO MARCHING IN...OH WHEN THE SAINTS.....GOOOO.....MARCHING IN!...."

Reggie Bush played great...that Saints D looks tough...Sedrick Ellis might be the most impact rookie this season....Jus' serve me up a po'boy and call me Mistah Happy y'all....

Yeah, maybe. But I think it would be sweet justice if Matt Cassel takes Bradys job while he's injured just like Brady took Bledsoes job when he was injured. Belichick will forget all about Brady if Cassel does well.

The Pats might still be OK. Their opponents in the AFC east (dolphins, jets, bills) are all weak teams. So the Pats still have a good shot at the playoffs.

As for Randy, he won't quit on the team unless they start to really suck. If they continue to win then he will stay motivated.

:I wanted to go ahead and crown the Chargers as the NFL's best but..c'mon dudes...what the fuck was that yesterday? ANOTHER LOSS?

Yeah, the Chargers are bigtime underachievers. IMO, the NFL's best are probably Dallas and Pittsburgh. They both look fantastic.

:Dallas looks pretty good. I think my team for this season (yes, I'm going to officially leap aboard their bandwagon)..."Oh when the SAINTS! GO MARCHING IN...OH WHEN THE SAINTS.....GOOOO.....MARCHING IN!...."

I agree. Dallas looks great. I'll admit it even though I hate their guts. They still have that weak ass secondary though. Pacman looked horrible yesterday. You see his pass interference on Braylon Edwards in the endzone? Braylon made Pac look silly.

Can Reggie do that every game? I seriously doubt it. But who knows? Maybe he'll actually get his shit together and become the next Marshall Faulk.

Player of the day yesterday was Michael Turner. He did wonders for my fantasy team too.

No, he can't.

Reggie Bush is one of the most over-rated players in the NFL today. For being voted one of the top 10 college football players of all-time, he certainly isn't pulling his (over-rated) weight in the NFL. I'm not positive, but I don't even think he averages 4 yards a carry. Yeah, reeeeeal good running back.

How about them Lions? :pukey:

It will be interesting to see how Cassell does. While all of the pundits are saying that he has no experience and hasn't started a game since he was in high school, he has been Brady's backup for a couple of years and knows the offensive system very well. The biggest issue will be his being able to get in synche with the Patriots receivers who have been working with Brady for a couple of years.

Bellichek is not going to forget about Brady, the dude won 3 Super Bowls.

As other posters have mentioned, the Patriots have one of the easier schedules this year, and will win at least 10 games, which will get them in the playoffs, but probably not home field advantage.

I agree 100%.
He has averaged (in 326 carries) 3.6 yards per carry. That's terrible for an NFL tailback. Yet his running mate, Duece McAllister, has averaged over 4 during that time.
Bush is a good receiver out of the backfield or third down back. But so far he has been a lousy NFL running back and a very poor number 2 overall draft pick.

We agree on politics, but I have no love for the Pats. I am sorry that Brady went down, it will at least open up the favorites for the Super Bowl.

The Chargers lost on the last play, Delhomme threw a beauty for a win. I agree they did not play like super bowl favorites, but it is early.

Dallas! Yuck!

I love Brees and glad the Saints played so well. The D is going to be great!

I agree. I still think they will finish 10-6 or 11-5. As long as the Pats have coach BB (who I think is brilliant but somewhat psycho; in a bad way), then the 2008 Pats should make the playoffs.

In defense of Reggie, nobody in NFL HISTORY has entered the NFL with more hype than him. When you have 11 players each week hellbent on stopping you, total dominance is unlikely to immediately occur. Did you all count the bodies of tacklers on the pile whenever Reggie had the ball? Sometimes it took forever for all those bodies to get off him. Yes every defender is supposed to "stop the QB" but how about when all that QB does is hand off the ball? It is different with Reggie Bush. What needs to happen for Reggie is for the hype to die down a bit. He does not look like a #1/#2 drafted player. It hasn't come together for him like it did in high school and college. But Tampa is known for their D and maybe with some of the other Saints players performing well...Reggie will be able to become the next great one:thefinger

Im callng it right now it will be both PA teams in Tampa! Philly wins the Super Bowl!:nanner::nanner::nanner::nanner:

I can see Pittsburgh making the Super Bowl. The AFC only has a few contenders in it (Indianapolis, Jacksonville, San Diego, maybe New England) and I think Pittsburgh matches up well with all of those teams.

I don't see Philadelphia making it though. They have a good team but the NFC is stacked with tough teams this year.

I'm anxious to see how it all turns out.

The Packers didn't look too bad tonight. Neither did the Vikings. Hmm...good game.

It seems like the NFC "Norris Division" is going to be pretty tough this year.

And Aaron Rodgers had the 2'nd best QB rating of any QB in their first NFL start in league history.
