Clemson is my team as well. Though they typically underachieve.

2008 should be a great year for them. Their schedule is:
Alabama
South Carolina State
N.C. State
The Citadel
Maryland
Wake Forest
Georgia Tech
Florida State
Duke
Virginia
South Carolina

They should win all those games except for the one against Alabama. Virginia Tech is not even on their schedule. When you combine this with the return of almost all of their stars, the season is looking bright for Clemson. James Davis, C.J. Spiller, and Cullen Harper are all returning for the 2008 campaign.

They should win the ACC this year! But, doesn't Clemson always lose a couple games they shouldn't?

Yes they do. They were great last year but gave away a game against Georgia Tech which they should've easily won. They also lost two close games to Boston College and Auburn(chic-fil-a bowl:rubbel:)

The only game they were soundly beaten in last year was the VA Tech game (41-23).

The ACC is to football what sparring partners are to boxing :)

Yeah, your right. Clemson, Miami, Florida State, VA Tech, UVA, NC State, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Wake Forest and Maryland all have terrible football programs. Yep, none of those ACC teams ever had a good football team.
(if your sensing sarcasm. there's a reason for that)

what do you mean alabama. You honestly think alabama will beat clemson? No way dude clemson's runningbacks will run over alabama.

I think Clemson has a good chance to run the table this year. But Nick Saban has just signed what many believe is the nation's best recruiting class. Plus they have a good O-line, good running backs and John Parker Wilson is returning. Alabama has a better chance to beat Clemson than any other team on Clemsons schedule. Although, the game is being played at Death Valley. And it's the first game of the season. So Clemson may just be too much for 'Bama. Luckily we won't have to wait long to find out since it's the first game.

Also, Davis and Spiller had a tendency to disappear and become non-factors last year. Let's hope they've grown out of that. I hope Clemson wins. But I think Alabama has a strong chance to upset the Tigers.

Isn't the Alabama game in Atlanta?

Yes it is. I forgot. They are playing it in the Georgia Dome. On the schedule it say's Clemson is the "home" team. So that's why I assumed it was in Death Valley. It slipped my mind that they were doing this "neutral site" BS.

I think 'Bama played one of those last year against Florida State. Can't remember where it was though.

Oh no doubt Miami and Florida State were once powerhouses. But I wasn't talking about the past, and I was exaggerating for effect based greatly on the fading glory of those two programs. It's a decent conference, and a competitive one within, but I don't see it producing more than one BCS bowl team, at most.

^You're right, we are currently in the era of the powerhouse SEC and the overrated Big Ten. Although, Clemson and Georgia Tech have been National Champs in the past just like Miami and Florida State. And VA Tech was in a national Championship game less than 10 years ago.

Also, let me take this oppurtunity to say FUCK THE BCS. Because of them an ACC team could go undefeated (Clemson this year hopefully) and still never break into the top ten in the rankings.

I don't know if I would call the Big 10 overrated. I was under the impression that everybody knew that they weren't that great anymore. Even Michigan and Ohio State seem to underachieve more than they should.

Who do you guys like from the SEC to run the table? I sure hope my Gators do it this year.

We need either a REAL College Football Playoff or we need to blow up ALL CONFERENCE ALIGNMENTS AS THEY EXIST TODAY and just create 4 Regional SUPER CONFERENCES and pile all 108 Div 1 teams into these 4 Regional-based SUPER CONFERENCES -- NORTH/SOUTH/CENTRAL/WEST Just take a map of the U.S. and divide it into Quarter sections, basically.

NORTH Section--Notre Dame,B.C., Virginia Tech, Penn State, Pitt, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio State, Michigan, plus other teams like Illinois, Purdue, Iowa, Iowa State

CENTRAL -- All Texas schools, Oklahoma schools, Nebraska, New Mexico schools, Arkansas, Missouri

South--From Tennessee/North Carolina south--all Florida schools, Alabama, Auburn, Duke, Wake Forest, Georgia schools, LSU

WEST--Pac 10, plus Colorado, Colorado State, Boise State, Hawaii, Fresno State, BYU, Utah

That's the basic idea...then the winners of each Region can meet in a Final 4 Tourney to decide the champ...

We could move Texas Longhorns into the West, if people think the West is weak, but that would screw up the point of this system--save travel costs and drive up local rivalries...
