The most controversial movies ever

Disney's Song of the South might fit into this category. Yes, we've all heard the song (Zippydee Doodah), and we know about Bre'er Rabbit and Bre'er Bear, but, to my knowledge, the movie was banned because of the racial stereotypes that it portrayed.

My Penis Is Dancing!
Life of Brian ruffled the feathers of a lot of christians. As did In Search of the Holy Grail. The Meaning of Life was not popular with catholics because of its Every Sperm Is Sacred song.

Most Michael Moore films are.

Michael Moore is a douchebag. He edits out parts that dispute his own ideas and manipulates people into saying what he wants them to say. When I first saw Fahrenheit I believed him but then a lot people he interviewed came forward and said he was editing out parts of the interviews. Like the mother of a dead soldier who said even though she missed her son, she still supported the war and thought they were there for a good reason.

most films by Luis Bunuel. Especially L'age d'or which was banned in France for 40 years.
Freaks (Tod Browning) was banned in the UK for decades
Pinky (Elia Kazan). Banned in many Southern states.
Die Sünderin with Hildegard Knef caused uproar in Germany in 1951. A movie sympathetic with a prostitute who helps her boyfriend in an assisted suicide.
All Quiet On the Western Front.
Raid on Entebbe (bomb threats against cinemas showing it)
Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia
Paths of Glory (banned in France)

Milk.

I still get sick to my stomach when I think about that horrid piece of smut.

Oh yeah, and while we're at it throw that gutter piece of trash called "art" that was Brokeback Mountain.

That Japanese film I think the translation for it was Guinea Pig 2 was pretty controversial.

Some of the "Nazi-sexplotation" movies from the 70´s are pretty messed up. Hard Candy is one recent movie that comes to mind.
